The Deputy Director of Anti-theft Police, Faraja, announced the arrest of 730 thieves during the implementation of the nationwide plan to deal with thieves and buyers of stolen property.

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan, Col. Kamiyar Chehri, explaining the details of this news, stated: In order to deal with the buyers of stolen property and to limit the areas of buying and selling stolen property, the national plan to deal with moneylenders was implemented in the provinces of the country from the beginning of October this year for two days.

He added: During the implementation of this project, 730 people were arrested and 593 items of stolen property were discovered. Also, police officers visited 2,26 trade unions with the aim of monitoring the activities of trade unions and dealing with the buying and selling of suspicious property, and 391 seal warnings were issued.

Emphasizing the role of dealing with thieves in reducing the motivation to commit theft, Chehri clarified: besides violating the rights of citizens and aggravating the damages caused by theft, buying and selling stolen property provides the basis for thieves to continue their activities; Therefore, identifying and dealing with people who fuel the cycle of distribution of stolen property by buying stolen property is one of the important axes of police awareness measures.

This law enforcement officer warned the buyers of stolen goods and noted: When buying goods, especially second-hand items, citizens and trade activists should ensure the authenticity and legality of its origin and refrain from buying goods without valid documents or with questionable conditions, including unconventional prices; Because ignorance of the real origin of the goods does not necessarily exclude the legal responsibility of the buyer.

In the end, the Vice-President of Anti-theft Police, Faraja, asked the citizens to inform the police through official channels if they see suspicious cases of buying and selling of stolen property, and emphasized: In addition to the specialized measures of the police, the effective fight against theft requires the cooperation of the people and refraining from buying property of unknown origin.
