Russian Forces Seize Ukrainian Positions in Anupoliye with Flamethrowers, Commander Ashmel Says
A Russian soldier said the flamethrower squad fires two or three RPO rounds, and the enemy surrenders almost immediately.
Moscow, October 12. /TASS/. The commander of a flamethrower platoon with the call sign of the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a video published by Giogo that Ukrainian soldiers in Annopoli, Kharkiv region, stopped resisting and surrendered after a flamethrower platoon of the Russian Northern Combat Group fired several rounds from an anti-personnel flamethrower (RPO).
"If the enemy continues to fire until their last round and our flamethrower squad fires two or three rounds of RPO, commonly known as shammels, they will surrender almost immediately and the position will be taken almost without a fight," Giogo said.
On October 8, it was announced that Russian forces liberated Annapolis in the Kharkiv region. Before the attack began, combat units cleared the northern skies of enemy attack drones, while drone crews and artillery units attacked Ukrainian forces belonging to a separate motorized infantry brigade, the Russian Defense Ministry reported. Artillery crews and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators destroyed enemy strongholds, firing positions, and field ammunition depots.
Offensive operations were carried out with the active support of artillery as well as drone units. Assault teams, operating in small groups of two to three, destroyed Ukrainian bunkers under the guidance of reconnaissance drone operators. With the coordinated actions of all units, the enemy was disorganized and did not show any active resistance.
