Trump's controversial statements about the execution of the "Fort Hood" shooter by firing squad; "Live streaming is disruptive, but we don't do it"
Referring to the imminent execution of Nidal Malik Hasan (the perpetrator of the deadly Fort Hood shooting) by the fire squad, the US President stated that although the live broadcast of this ceremony could have been a deterrent against terrorism, this sentence will be executed without a live video broadcast and only with the presence of the first-degree relatives of the victims.
In a message on the "Truth Social" social network, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, described the details of the execution of Nidal Malik Hassan, the former major of the US Army and the perpetrator of the bloody attack in 2009 at the Texas Fort Hood military base.
In this message, Trump called Nidal Hassan a "traitor and evil" person, and recalling the details of that tragic incident, he stated that he killed 13 people (including a pregnant female soldier and her unborn child) and seriously injured 32 others.
He also criticized the performance of the FBI during the Barack Obama era, and considered the neglect of Hasan's electronic correspondence with Anwar al-Awlaki (a radical cleric) before the incident to be a "key intelligence failure".
The President of the United States continued to state about the execution of the sentence and its reflection: "The live broadcast of the execution could have been a strong deterrent for the world to see how America deals with terrorists, but many people do not want to see the images of the death of a convict."
Finally, he emphasized that Nizal Hassan's death sentence will be carried out according to the schedule and by the firing squad, but this ceremony will not be broadcast live and only the first-class members of the victims' families can witness its execution in person if they wish to achieve justice.
