Awarding the certificate of the National Carpet Weaving City to the mayor of Hassan Abad Eqlid
In a ceremony held on the sidelines of the tourism and handicrafts exhibition of Fars province in the presence of the director general of cultural heritage of tourism and handicrafts of the province, the representative of the people of Euclid in the Islamic Council, the governor of Euclid and a group of artists and visitors to the exhibition, the certificate of the national city of carpet weaving was awarded to the mayor of Hassan Abad Euclid.
According to the reporter of Arya Heritage, on Friday 24 October 1405, in this ritual, with a human perspective on the art of rugs, the sufferings and anonymity of weaving women were the core of the formation of authentic Iranian rugs, and he described each row of rugs as a symbol of a human feeling.
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Fars Province described the difficulties in the lives of women artists and emphasized: Every knot in handwoven carpets is the result of years of patience and tolerance and breaking from comfort, and unfortunately, the names of many of these women are not registered in any official register.
In a part of his speech, a student likened each row of a carpet to concepts such as soil, blood, sadness, patience and sojourn, and pointed out: Each carpet is actually a collection of sighs and secrets of weaving women, which is now displayed in the world markets, but the creator of the work remains unknown in the very rooms of the smell of wool.
He pointed out the contrast between the artistic value of the carpet and the social status of the weavers and added: The carpets have now fallen on lands they do not know, and passers-by step on them without knowing that under each step lies a knot of a woman's suffering and art.
The representative of the people of Euclid in the Islamic Council, referring to the awarding of the plaque to the national carpet weaving city of Hassan Abad, emphasized the need to turn this title into practical support for the weavers.
Congratulating the people of Hassan Abad on this achievement, Muslim Salehi said: We hope this title will not remain just a name and we will use this brand to truly support carpet weavers.
Pointing to the serious challenges of this guild, he emphasized that many weavers are struggling with problems such as lack of financial ability to buy raw materials, insurance concerns and lack of sales markets, and completing this chain is the main priority.
Comparing this figure with oil revenues, the representative of the people of Euclid in the Islamic Council stated: "We have lost a big market, and if we had acted properly, this industry could have brought a huge currency to the country without relying on oil."
Pointing to the capacities of Euclid city and Hassan Abad district, Salehi called for big support to reactivate carpet weaving workshops and transfer this art to the young generation.
He added: Our goal is to pass the registration of the national city with the support of the government and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and introduce Hassan Abad as a global city of carpet weaving in international markets, especially in Europe.
In the end, the representative of the people of Euclid, while appreciating the efforts of the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Dr. Behzad Meridi (Director General of Fars Cultural Heritage), the governor and mayor of Hassan Abad, considered holding Expo 2026 in Shiraz as an exceptional opportunity to introduce the production capabilities of Fars province and establish a direct relationship between producers and foreign buyers.
In this ceremony, the governor of Euclid city, referring to the awarding of the national registration plate of the city of Qalibafi, considered this achievement a big step in the direction of recognizing the ancient art of this region and turning it into an engine for economic development.
Ruhollah Moradi, referring to the efforts of the last one and a half years to achieve this project, stated: "The national registration of the carpet weaving city is actually the completion of the artistic puzzle of the zealous artists of Hassan Abad; "An art that has passed from hand to hand over the years and has been recognized today." He emphasized that this city, relying on its existing capacities, has now become the driving force of the carpet industry in the region.
Appreciating the support of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Dr. Behzad Meridi (Director General of Fars Cultural Heritage), he noted: Euclid city is a land full of artists and untapped potential in the fields of tourism, ancient works and cultural heritage.
Moradi emphasized: With a comprehensive and accurate view, investment in this region can lead to the growth of handicrafts and tourism.
Governor Euclid said: Balandeh's industries and capacities of the city have been displayed in this exhibition.
Moradi expressed his hope: with more formal planning, in the coming years, they will witness a more powerful and effective presence of Euclid products in the national and global arenas.
