Get a Switch 2-Ready 512GB MicroSD Express Card for $85
This microSD Express card lets you expand your Switch 2's storage for the same price you'll find in 2026.
If you have a Nintendo Switch 2, chances are you're running low on storage space. That's because it only comes with 256GB. And with more people buying digital games than ever before, that can fill up quickly. Luckily, Walmart is selling a 512GB Switch 2-ready microSD Express card for $84.77 — much less than you'd pay for this amount of storage elsewhere (for reference, Amazon has a SanDisk for $129.99). This card is almost never in stock, so grab it while it's available.
Onn is Walmart's in-house brand, and this card has an excellent customer score, and our review reads it, and I quote, "good." Because microSD Express cards have no moving parts, they're generally quite reliable—I've never had a problem with one. All you have to do is pop it into your Switch 2, format it as a storage device, and you can start downloading games from the eShop on it right away.
In years past, the price of storage would reliably drop over time, but then AI came along and AI companies started buying up most of the world's storage for data centers, and RAMageddon or whatever you want to call it began. Storage prices have been rising since late last year, and they don't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
How would you rate the Nintendo Switch 2 library so far?
This is a big problem because in the 4K era, games take up more storage space than ever before. For example, the Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth takes up nearly 100 GB of storage space, which is roughly half of what comes on the Nintendo console. Other AAA games also take up a lot of space, such as Assassin's Creed Shadows (62GB), Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition (60GB), and Madden NFL 27 (57GB).
All of this means you'll probably want more storage on your Switch 2, unless you enjoy installing games on and off the device. And you won't find a better price on microSD Express cards right now. This effectively triples the amount of storage on the Switch 2, giving you a lot more breathing room.
