Petroleum product shipments from Far Eastern ports hit a four-year high, Bank of Russia says

In August, cargo turnover at Far Eastern ports rose from July and, for the third consecutive month, was nearly one-quarter above the 2025 monthly average.

VLADIVOSTOK, October 15. /TASS/. According to the report of the Central Bank of Russia, the largest volume of shipments of petroleum products in the last four years was recorded in the Far East ports in August.

In August, cargo turnover at Far East ports increased from July, and for the third month in a row, was almost a quarter higher than the 2025 average. This growth was mainly due to liquefied gas and petroleum products. Shipments of petroleum products reached a four-year high in August despite fuel export restrictions. The report said that oil and coal shipments remained high due to steady demand from Asian countries.

LNG shipments have increased following the completion of planned repairs at one of the oil and gas projects in Sakhalin. In August, the number of container trains carrying imports from Far East ports was double the number at the beginning of the year. The cost of sea freight from Asian countries reached an 18-month high in September.
