Control Resonant has sold a million copies, making it Remedy's fastest-selling game despite the revelations that surfaced after its digital release in September.
Remedy celebrated the milestone on October 15, writing on Twitter/X: "Thank you for your support. For playing, sharing and being a part of the community."
Thomas Poha, Remedy's director of communications, also commented on the achievement, saying, "Here we go. A strong start."

That means Control Resonant has overtaken Alan Wake 2, which previously held the record for the studio's fastest-selling release. The legacy sequel sold over a million copies two months after its release. Control Resonant has reached this figure in just three weeks.
This is good news for both Remedy and fans of the game, many of whom urged players not to download the pirated version of the title when it launches digitally in late September. It turns out that this wasn't a crippling setback for the developer, given its current financial success - and physical copies of the game have just been released, so there's still more to come.
Control Resonant was met with critical acclaim among both reviewers and players. We at IGN gave it an eight out of 10 reviewer Michael Higham said, “Even when the sharp edge of combat eventually becomes dull, Control Resonant is a great addition to the Remedyverse. While its story adheres to more standards, the framework is its gravitational pull on the inventive world it's built around and the humanization that underpins the supernatural intrigue.
In fact, the game was so good that many Internet pirates decided not to download it illegally and instead supported Remedy in hopes that its success would help keep the studio alive.
One fan wrote on the piracy subreddit: "One of the few games I'm going to buy, Remedy is on the brink of bankruptcy, this title is their make or break, I love their games and have to do everything I can to keep them going."
"I wasn't going to buy it, but now I feel like I have to," said another. "I like Remedy. They make good games."
Remedy is known for titles such as the original Control game, Alan Wake 2, Max Payne and Quantum Break. And while their offerings have been met with high praise from players, they aren't necessarily designed for mass appeal, leaving some gamers worried about the future of the developers - but if these latest figures are anything to go by, it looks like it's going well.
