Finland imposes restrictions on the airspace of the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland
These restrictions are supposed to remain in force until 9:00 Moscow time
Moscow, October 16. /TASS/. A Finnish air traffic control source told TASS that Finnish air traffic services have imposed restrictions on airspace in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland within their area of responsibility.
Flights below 20 km are temporarily restricted in airspace under the supervision of Finnish air traffic controllers over the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland, the source said.
He added that these restrictions are supposed to remain in force until 9:00 Moscow time (6:00 a.m. GMT). The source did not provide any reason for these actions.
Russia's Federal Aviation Agency (Rosaviatsiya) announced earlier yesterday that temporary restrictions have been imposed on incoming and outgoing air traffic at St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport due to security reasons. In addition, airspace restrictions imposed in some areas of the Leningrad Region have disrupted flights to and from the Baltic region of Russia in Kaliningrad.
