After the death of the elderly man, his son, daughter and wife were arrested as suspects in the case. The defendants gave conflicting statements during the initial interrogations, but the young son of the family confessed to his father's murder after being confronted with the evidence.

The defendant, who is a doctoral student in one of the management fields, claimed that his father constantly harassed family members and created tension at home with aggression.

In the continuation of his statements, he said that during the conflict with his father, he hit him on the head with a stick. A blow that, according to the case report, led to the death of the elderly man. The accused also claimed that he did not intend to kill his father and that this happened during a family conflict.

According to the judicial order, the accused was transferred to the fifth branch of Tehran Criminal Prosecutor's Office. Judge Mohammad Javad Shafiei, the investigator of the case, ordered the investigation to continue to clarify the details of the incident and examine the defendants' statements.
