Falahi: Not All Problems Should Be Attributed Solely to War or Sanctions
A former parliament member said: Officials should prevent growing public concern and market turmoil by stating facts, avoiding non-expert remarks, and using available capacities to resolve economic problems.
Ahmed Hossein Falahi, a former member of the Islamic Council, in a conversation with a Mehr reporter, pointed to the need for officials to pay attention to the effects of their statements on public opinion, and said: "Some officials and people who give interviews in the media sometimes do not pay enough attention to the consequences of their words, while these statements may convey an image of the country's weakness and be abused by the enemy." Therefore, the officials should be more careful in their comments and avoid saying things that cause the enemy to hope and the people to worry.
Referring to the impact of officials' statements on the psychological atmosphere of the society and the market, he added: the words of officials should be expressed more carefully and tactfully, because some statements can cause market inflammation, people's worries and increase economic pressures. The government should make arrangements to manage these conditions and, if necessary, use people who can speak to the people with a measured and wise approach.
Officials should state the facts and give hope to the people
Emphasizing the need to strengthen people's peace and resilience, Falahi said: One of the important duties of officials is to give hope to the society and express the facts. We should not increase people's concern by presenting false statistics or statements that do not match the existing facts, because such words can negatively affect the psychological atmosphere of the society, prices and economic decisions.
The representative of the people of Hamadan in the 11th parliament, referring to statements about the suspension of Iran's oil exports, clarified: When an official announces that the country's oil exports have reached zero, this should be reconciled with real statistics, because oil exports continue by land routes, so officials should be careful in stating statistics and avoid providing inflammatory information in the market.
He continued: Presenting unrealistic statistics, in addition to causing concern in the society, can lead to incorrect decisions. Officials should speak based on the existing facts and instead of aggravating concerns, they should help maintain the peace of the society by providing accurate and transparent information.
This former MP pointed to the economic conditions of other countries and said: economic problems are not unique to Iran and different countries of the world are also facing challenges. Some European and American countries are also facing problems in the supply of goods, energy and fuel, and it is necessary to explain the economic realities of these countries to the people through the statements of experts and reliable sources.
Criticizing the publication of ill-considered statements in the media and social networks, Falahi said: unprofessional words and false information published by some people and figures can harm the spirit of the society and the resilience of the people. In such a situation, the media and officials should be careful in publishing information and help maintain the hope and peace of the people by providing correct information.
Using existing capacities to solve economic problems
Falahi said about the necessity of correct executive management of the country: the officials should pay attention to the way of informing, and also act in practice to solve the country's problems. The president has announced that any person who has the ability to help the country can declare his readiness to cooperate and we are ready to help the country like other people who have declared their readiness.
He added: Despite the declaration of people's readiness and the existence of different capacities, in some cases the existing capabilities are not used properly. Sometimes factional views, political considerations, and misconceptions prevent us from using capacities that can be effective in solving the country's problems.
Fallahi emphasized: These examples show that not all problems should be attributed to war or sanctions, but the way of calculation, decision-making, and performance of managers also play a role in solving or perpetuating problems. The leader of the revolution has also warned about some incorrect calculations by the authorities and it is necessary to make decisions with more accuracy and a realistic view.
The need to reduce the dependence of the economy on the dollar
Referring to the effects of currency fluctuations on the country's economy, the representative of the 11th term of the parliament said: One of the issues that should be seriously considered is reducing the dependence of the Iranian economy on the dollar. In a situation where the country is facing economic and war pressures, it should not be done in such a way that the valuation of goods and economic activities becomes more dependent on the dollar rate.
Fallahi added: Practical measures should be taken to reduce the role of the dollar in the country's economy and to effectively use domestic capacities and available resources. If economic management is done with a more accurate approach and the country's capacities are used, the effects of problems and pressures caused by war conditions can be reduced.
strengthening people's hope and resilience; The need to overcome difficult situations
Emphasizing the importance of maintaining hope in the society, this former member of parliament said: In the current difficult situation, people should know that the country has significant capacities and problems can be overcome with proper management. Passing through difficult situations requires patience, hope and perseverance, and the officials should help strengthen this spirit with proper performance and information.
He pointed to the economic problems of the United States and the increase in the country's debts and said: "The increase in the debts of the United States can have serious consequences for the economy of this country."
Referring to the figure of more than 40 trillion dollars for the US debt, the representative of the 11th session of the Islamic Council considered this a sign of the country's economic challenges.
In the end, Falahi emphasized: the officials should help maintain peace and strengthen people's resilience by making accurate decisions, using existing capacities, providing correct information and avoiding alarming statements. As the psychological pressures on the people decrease and the hope for the future is strengthened, the possibility of overcoming difficult conditions and maintaining national unity will increase.
