Khyber's official position on holding the elimination cup
Faraz Kamalvand says that Khyber club has given written consent to hold the elimination cup.
According to the report of Sport 3, due to the pressure of the Premier League matches and the approach of the Asian Nations Cup, the possibility of not holding the knockout cup competitions has become one of the important discussions of Iranian football these days. In this situation, Faraz Kamalvand, the head coach of Khyber Khorramabad, by announcing his club's agreement to hold this tournament, emphasized that the elimination cup can be an important opportunity for teams that have less chance to get a quota from the league.
Kamalvand said: "I talked to different teams two or three times. Two seasons ago, when I was the coach of Sanat Naft Abadan in League One, we reached the semi-finals and lost to the champion of that year. I believe that competitions should be held. When we play every four days, what's wrong if they also hold the FA Cup? By the way, they asked the teams for their opinion, and we were among the teams that announced that we agree."
In response to the question of which teams are against holding the Khola Cup, the head coach of Khyber said: "I don't know exactly, but the Khyber club announced in writing that we are ready to hold the Khola Cup competitions."
Kamalvand continued by pointing to the importance of the elimination cup for the teams and said: "If we want to have the same view of the teams, we must give this chance to all teams, because some teams in the league may not be able to get a quota in a marathon of 34 matches due to their potential and capital, but in the elimination cup they can do so with five or six matches."
