A major grocery store chain in France was the target of a cyber attack on Monday in which cooling control systems made by a Danish company were targeted.
According to Ambassador Arjan, "BFMTV" news channel reported that this attack affected about 300 stores of "Intermarche" and "Netto" brands, as well as less than 100 stores of "U" brand.
Hackers are said to have remotely changed the temperature set in the systems and caused the loss of fresh and frozen product stocks.
Only in the Alsace region, two stores "Intermarche" and "Super U" (Super U) reported a loss equal to 270,000 euros ($301,000). Total damages across France are expected to reach several million euros.
The director of the "Cooperative U" group also confirmed the attack on the "X" social network.
"Dominic Schlescher" while stressing the need to conduct investigations, announced that their teams are fully mobilized to restore the situation to normal.
According to Ambassador Arjan's report, he said: "Targeting equipment that is vital for keeping fresh products and supplying food to the French people is a very serious and unprecedented action. This is unacceptable."
