The explorer section was seen in the beta version of Telegram

The beta version of Telegram for macOS is equipped with a new feature called For you, which selects channel posts based on users' interests. This version also includes the possibility of using collectible gift stickers on the Telegram wallet card. Both features are detected in the beta version, but they are not yet usable and their activation depends on the Telegram servers.

According to Ambassador Arjan, these features have been seen in build 13.0.283318 of Telegram for macOS, which was released on October 15. The previous version, 13.0.283309, released on October 11, had none of these features.

How does Telegram's new feed explorer work?

For you feature has two separate feeds. The first feed displays the posts that the Telegram server selects based on the user's interests. The second feed also shows the posts of channels in which the user has already subscribed. Users can switch between these feeds through two separate sections at the top of the page.

When using the feed for the first time, the question "What topics are you interested in?" will be displayed and the user can select their interests from among the categories marked with emojis. The list of these categories is received from the server and is not stored in the application.

The functionality of the feed is similar to the common features of this type of user interface. Posts are loaded as paginated and the user can refresh the content by swiping down the page. Also, a separate indicator will appear at the top of the list when there are new posts.
