Hamedan - The secretary of the 31st Hamedan International Children and Youth Theater Festival said: One of the biggest challenges and fundamental weaknesses in the country's theater, especially in the children's section, is the lack of great texts and creative ideas.
According to Mehr reporter, Marzieh Broumand said that holding a festival alone is not enough to respond to the deep cultural needs of the children and teenagers, and stated: One of the biggest challenges and fundamental weaknesses in the country's theater, especially in the children's section, is the lack of great texts and creative ideas.
Emphasizing the serious responsibility of artists towards the future generation, he added: Our duties go beyond seasonal events, and accepting the responsibility of the festival's secretary was not done to hold a calendar event, but with the aim of creating a flow for the future of theater and children of this land, and the artist should be a leader and develop the idea of a show long before the announcement of the calls, rather than thinking of producing a work just by announcing the festival.
Referring to the identity challenges of the new generation, the director of the 31st Hamedan International Children and Youth Theater Festival said: Children today have lost their identity in the face of various cultural trends and do not have sufficient knowledge of their civilizational values and assets, and theater as an educational and artistic tool has a vital mission to strengthen the cultural identity of the future generation, which artists must adhere to.
Referring to the infrastructural concerns, Broumand said: From the first day of accepting this responsibility, I have requested the statistics of the country's theater infrastructure in order to clarify the status of children's access to artistic content.
Emphasizing cultural justice, he stated: cities with a population of over 100,000 should have minimum facilities, i.e. theaters, in order to guarantee children's access to plays, and I will personally pursue this demand at different levels.
The secretary of the 31st Hamedan International Children and Youth Theater Festival also pointed to the presence of Atabek Naderi, Director General of Performing Arts in this meeting and emphasized that the presence of directors who came from the theater and are familiar with the sufferings and needs of this field can be very effective in solving the problems and challenges of this field.
At the end, referring to the slogan of this festival, "The good condition of today's children is the good condition of tomorrow's children", Broumand noted: Our ultimate goal of holding this event is to create lasting vitality and improve the mental atmosphere of children, because we believe that a better future depends on ensuring the good condition and mental peace of today's children.
