Smart #2 Has Arrived / Attractive, Much Smaller and Cleaner Than Before

The Smart #2 is built on ECA's dedicated platform and uses a new safety structure called Tridion Cell Evo. A five-link rear suspension, adaptive cruise control and a suite of driving assistants are also planned for the vehicle.

Ambassador Arjan - On October 12, 2026, Smart Company unveiled its new generation of small two-seater car called smart #2 at the Paris Auto Show. This model, which is the continuation of the Smart Fortwo, comes to the market with very compact dimensions, an electric motor and a special design for commuting in cities.

Smart 2 # with a length of 2746 mm, is designed for driving in busy streets and parking in limited spaces. The short distance between the axles and the placement of the wheels near the corners of the body help to make better use of the interior space. The declared turning radius of the car is also 6.95 meters.

This car uses an electric motor installed in the rear section, which produces 60 kilowatts, equivalent to about 82 horsepower, and 130 newton meters of torque. Engine power is transmitted to the rear wheels.

A 35.8 kWh LFP type battery is considered for this model, and its targeted driving range reaches 290 km based on the WLTP standard. Smart has announced that the car supports DC fast charging with a maximum power of 65 kW, and charging the battery from 10 to 80 percent takes about 20 minutes in the right conditions.

Smart 2# is developed on ECA's proprietary platform and uses a new safety structure called Tridion Cell Evo. Five-link suspension system in the rear axle, adaptive cruise control system and a set of driving assistants are also considered for this car.

In the cabin, a 10.1-inch central display sits next to an 8.8-inch driver's display. Wireless communication, 4G connection and Wi-Fi are also part of the announced facilities.

Smart #2 will be available in several equipment levels, and a special Couture Edition with a limited edition of 999 units is planned for the European market.

The release of this car is planned for 2027. The announced technical figures are still subject to the final approval of the European homologation process and may change before the start of deliveries.
