Mashayekhi: Agriculture Is the Core of Miyaneh's Development Plan

Miyaneh – The deputy governor and special governor of Miyaneh said that sustainable rice production, branding, development of processing industries and facilitating export opportunities are among the priorities for agricultural development in Miyaneh County.

According to Mehr reporter, Mohammad Reza Meshaikhi said on Wednesday evening at the rice harvest thanksgiving celebration of Mianeh city, referring to the place of agriculture in the development plan of this city, that the short-term, mid-term and long-term plans of Mianeh are mainly based on the capacities of agriculture and its sub-sectors, and all related institutions are trying to follow the path of development of the city by synergizing and using these capacities.

He stated that the transformation of rice into one of the axes of middle development is the result of the efforts of rice farmers and a set of responsible institutions, and added: The sustainability of rice production is one of the serious demands of the city, and its realization requires supporting farmers, removing obstacles to production and completing the value chain of this product.

Referring to the capacities available in the central rice processing, Mashaikhi clarified: the rice threshing units of the city have modern and advanced equipment and the quality of their activity is such that even the paddy produced in the northern regions of the country is transferred to the central for processing. However, in order to fully utilize the existing capacities, more measures should be taken in the field of branding, market development, export and setting up of ancillary industries, and the private sector should also receive provincial and national support.

The deputy governor and special governor of Mianeh also considered the completion of the apple production chain as one of the other necessities of the agricultural sector of the city and said: the establishment and completion of the apple concentrate unit can help increase the added value of this product and it is necessary to provide the necessary support to realize this goal.

Emphasizing the importance of agricultural products insurance, he noted: the agricultural sector is always faced with natural hazards, and product insurance can reduce economic losses to farmers. Certification of agricultural products, including rice, is also necessary for transparency in the production chain, quality improvement and market development.

Referring to the infrastructural issues of the middle agricultural sector, Mashaikhi said: Studies related to the water salinity of one of the city's rivers have been conducted, and it is still necessary to complete measures such as drainage and follow up on implementation solutions to solve this problem. Also, considering the variety of crops in the Aidoghmosh Dam, the timely supply of agricultural inputs should be considered according to the needs of producers in this area.

He listed the fuel supply needed by the agricultural sector as one of the other important issues of the city and added: the need of the agricultural sector for diesel is not limited to the planting and harvesting season, and production activities throughout the year, including autumn crops, need continuous supply of fuel. Meaneh ranks first in the province in broiler breeding and second in aquaculture, and the continuation of the activities of these sectors also requires providing the necessary fuel.

Emphasizing the necessity of supporting production jump programs, the Special Governor of Mianeh said: increasing production and providing sustainable food security is one of the basic components of the country's independence and security, and the realization of this goal requires the cooperation of executive bodies, support for farmers, and strengthening of production infrastructure.

In the end, he pointed to the election of the head of the East Azerbaijan Agricultural Jihad organization as the country's top agricultural director, and considered this success as the result of the efforts of the agricultural sector activists and emphasized the effective role of farmers, managers and experts in achieving the achievements of this sector.
