Ocarina of Time Remake Supports All Zelda Amiibo With In-Game Item Rewards

The new trailer for Ocarina of Time Remake has confirmed support for all Zelda amiibo, both old and new.

Nintendo has just released a teaser trailer for the Ocarina of Time remake, which gives a fresh look at the revamped environments, characters, and combat. We had the chance to play a portion of the game ourselves, and we were amazed at how many changes Nintendo made to the iconic N64 version.

While Nintendo previously announced two new amiibo figures related to the remake — Young Link and Young Zelda — the new overview trailer also confirms support for all existing Zelda amiibo. There aren't many details on what this support will include, but the trailer shows that Link will receive several useful items, including healing hearts, green potions, and a Deku Stick.

It looks like players will be able to use existing Zelda amiibo for consumables and utility items, but not necessarily cosmetics or exclusive weapons. This is similar to how non-Zelda amiibo worked in Tears of the Kingdom, which allowed for daily scanning of generic Amiibo "rewards" once per day.

The previously announced Ocarina of Time amiibo, which is up for pre-order with varying levels of inventory across retailers, will feature wearable player masks for Zelda and Link.

Nintendo first launched the amiibo line with the Wii U. Each amiibo has a small figure as well as a card that you can scan from Nintendo consoles and grant players various unlocks and rewards between games.

Every original Zelda release comes with a new amiibo. In addition to daily rewards, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom Amiibo also offer in-game weapons and equipment.

I have them all and use them in games as much as I can.

I have collected them all but they just look nice on my shelf.

I have several and use them from time to time.

I have my favorite characters but I don't use them.

Amiibo are often sold in leading versions of large games, and Zelda is almost as large. While the Switch 2 generation amiibo are still available at most retailers, some older versions have all but disappeared from the internet.

For those looking to get their hands on older versions, GameStop offers thousands of pre-owned amiibo with a "Pre-Owned" guarantee for peace of mind. You can also find third-party sellers at Target, Best Buy, and eBay, though it's always worth comparing prices to the single-digit MSRP at the time of release.

The remastered version of Ocarina of Time is now available for pre-order ahead of its release on November 5th. The game itself is currently $10 off at Amazon and Walmart. Nintendo is also releasing a Zelda-themed Switch 2 Pro console and controller on October 29.
