A week after Sean Combs was hospitalized with an undisclosed injury, he was moved to a new prison.

Officials and representatives for the Grammy Award-winning rapper's producer confirmed Friday that he has moved from minimum security FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood in Pennsylvania. Officially, the Bureau of Prisons still has Combs at Fort Dix, but the transfer has been made.

His current prison release date of March 2, 2028 remains in place.

The transfer to Allenwood, also a minimum-security facility, came earlier in the day after Combs spent the last few days in solitary confinement. Combs, who has been involved in several incidents since his incarceration last year, was revealed in an NBC News exposé earlier this month to be enjoying a life of smartphones, massages and high-priced contraband at Fort Dix.

"We appreciate the Department of Corrections for their safety and security and for everyone involved," Combs spokesman Judah Engelmeier told Deadline.

Convicted by a New York City jury in July 2025 of two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution, Combs was sentenced in September 2025 to 50 months in prison with time served at the end of a murky and violent trial. During his time at Ft. Deeks, he completed a drug treatment program that actually increased his freedom for a spell.

"His transfer from one low-security facility to another is a significant segregation issue, and while we cannot speak to [the Bureau of Prisons'] specific reasons for the move, it is consistent with a decision made with safety and security in mind.

While the BoP denied reports that Combs' head injury, reported earlier this week, was the result of a fight with fellow inmate (and drug lord) Christopher Cook, Combs was moved from Fort Dix's general population of more than 4,000 to a special housing unit. Sources say the mini-mogul will also be soloing at Allenwood sometime in the near future.

Combs, who failed to get a pardon from his former teammate Donald Trump, is betting that he will quickly get his case out of court before 2028. At the same time, he is charged in several civil cases related to sexual misconduct, as well as a possible sexual assault indictment by the Los Angeles County District Attorney.

After a trial in the summer of 2025, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York failed to convince a Manhattan jury that Combs was guilty of conspiracy and sex trafficking. If convicted of the charges, Combs could have been sentenced to life in prison.

TMZ first reported on Friday that Combs had been taken to jail.
