Semnan Telecom Prepares to Convert 30% of Damghan Network to Fiber Optic
The head of Semnan Province's telecommunications company announced readiness to migrate 30% of Damghan's communications network from copper cable to fiber optic, and plans to complete fiber optic coverage in the northern part of the county by the end of the year. He emphasized developing communications infrastructure, reducing costs for residents, improving service quality, and resolving communication problems in less-developed areas.
According to the report of Ambassador Arjan of Semnan Province, engineer Hamidreza Rahimi, director of telecommunications of the province, in separate meetings with Hojjatul Islam wal Muslimin Rostamian, Imam of Juma Damghan, and Alireza Nochenasar, the governor of this city, while explaining the development plans of telecommunications, the modernization of the communication network and the gradual replacement of copper cables with fiber optics are among the important missions of this complex, and he emphasized the need for the cooperation of city officials to realize the goals of this plan.
Moving from the copper network to new communication infrastructures
Referring to the rapid development of communication technologies, Rahimi stated: the infrastructure based on copper cable is no longer the answer to all the communication needs of today, and it is impossible to lag behind global developments in the field of new technologies. Therefore, the movement towards the development and replacement of fiber optics has been seriously placed on the agenda of the telecommunications sector.
Announcing the readiness to migrate 30% of the Damghan network to fiber optics, he added: It is planned that fiber optic coverage in the northern part of the city will reach 100% by the end of the year. A goal whose realization requires the cooperation and support of officials, executive bodies and other related groups.
Describing the advantages of this technology, the director of telecommunications of Semnan province said: increasing the speed and quality of communications, creating a stable platform for providing electronic services, reducing the vulnerability of infrastructure against cable theft and preventing disruptions caused by network damage are among the most important advantages of fiber optic development.
According to him, the development of this infrastructure can provide more favorable services to organizations, facilitate people's daily activities, expand education and scientific activities of universities, and develop telemedicine.
Reducing people's expenses and realizing communication justice
In a meeting with Imam Juma Damghan, Rahimi stated that reducing people's expenses, realizing communication justice and paying attention to underserved areas are the three main axes of the province's telecommunication activity and said: "The development of communication should be pursued in such a way that, while improving the quality of services, the possibility of fairer access to communication infrastructures and services is provided to citizens in different regions."
Referring to the costs of implementing fiber optic development plans and providing the necessary equipment, he said: the economic conditions of the country and the dependence of a significant part of telecommunications equipment on imports have increased the cost of implementing development plans; However, infrastructure development and service quality improvement are still among the priorities of this group.
Also referring to the policies of this group to facilitate people's access to new technologies, the telecommunication manager of Semnan province said: In the framework of the fiber optic development plan, the cost of running the fiber to the common location is the responsibility of the telecommunications company, and the applicants only pay the cost of the modem.
In addition, he listed the free in-network landline calls throughout the country from June and the possibility of Internet Telecom subscribers to use Filmo, Filmnet and Rubika platforms without paying a separate subscription fee among the measures taken to increase subscriber satisfaction.
Connecting schools, medical centers and industrial towns to fiber optics
Referring to the priorities of fiber optic development in the country, Rahimi said: connecting schools, health centers and industrial towns to this network is one of the important axes of communication infrastructure development.
He added: In the implementation of the national school fiber optic project, in Semnan province, about 30% more than the planned schedule has been done. Also, the connection of hospitals, clinics, health centers and other related centers to the fiber optic network should be followed with the cooperation of the responsible institutions.
Referring to the state of industrial towns, Semnan province's director of telecommunications said: So far, 97 percent of industrial towns in the province have been equipped with fiber optic infrastructure, and this coverage has reached 100 percent in Damghan industrial towns. In the continuation of this program, the connection of industrial units to the fiber optic network is also on the agenda.
He also pointed to the necessity of providing financial resources for the implementation of development projects and noted: Part of the resources needed for the development of fiber optics is provided from the sale of properties and collected copper cables; Because with the expansion of new technologies, continuing to rely on the old infrastructure will not meet future communication needs.
Reduction of 36 thousand kilowatt-hours in electricity consumption of telecommunications in the province
In another part of his speech, the Director of Telecommunications of Semnan province mentioned the measures taken to manage energy consumption and said: By implementing consumption management programs and modifying the pattern of equipment utilization, the electricity consumption of telecommunications in the province has decreased by about 36 thousand kilowatt-hours compared to the same period last year.
At the same time, Rahimi considered energy imbalance and frequent power outages as factors affecting the stability of communication networks and explained: Repeated power outages and disconnections and increasing the frequency of use of backup equipment, including batteries, reduce the useful life of these equipments and can affect the quality and stability of communications.
Referring to the challenges in providing equipment and infrastructure maintenance, he emphasized the necessity of paying attention to the stability of the network and taking necessary measures to reduce communication disorders.
The demand of the governor to remove the communication blind spots of Damghan
In the meeting of the director of telecommunication of the province with the governor of Damghan, Alireza Nochenasar, while appreciating the services of the telecommunication complex and expressing his satisfaction with the performance of this complex in providing communication services to the people, emphasized the necessity of continuing to provide good services.
Governor Damghan, referring to the disruption of communications in parts of the southern part of the city during the power outage, demanded to investigate the stability of the equipment and communication infrastructure in this area.
He also pointed to the existence of communication blind spots, especially in the road axes and Damghan desert areas, and emphasized the necessity of checking the coverage of the mobile phone network, identifying areas with weak communication and adopting the necessary solutions to improve the access of people and road users to communication services.
These requests highlight the necessity of simultaneously paying attention to the development of new infrastructure and solving the problems in the communication network of the city; Because having a stable connection, especially on road routes and remote areas, is one of the important needs of citizens and travelers.
Imam Juma Damghan's emphasis on responding to people's needs
Hojjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimin Rostamian, Imam of Juma Damghan, in a meeting with the director of telecommunications of the province, while appreciating the measures taken at the level of the city and the province, emphasized the necessity of continuing efforts to improve the quality of communication services.
Referring to the role of communication in people's daily life and its effect on the advancement of social and economic affairs, he considered it necessary to continuously pay attention to the needs of citizens, follow up on communication problems and try to provide better services to subscribers.
Accompanying officials; The condition of speeding up the modernization of the network
The sum of the topics raised in the meetings of the telecommunications director of Semnan province with Imam Juma and Damghan governor, shows that the development of fiber optics, reducing the cost of people's access, improving the quality of services and fixing the weak points of the communication network are among the most important axes for the future of telecommunications in this city.
According to the announced plan to migrate 30% of the Damghan network to fiber optic and complete the coverage of this technology in the northern part of the city by the end of the year, accompanying the executive bodies and following up on the communication problems of different regions can play an effective role in advancing these goals.
In both meetings, the head of telecommunications of Damghan city, the commercial manager and the public relations officer of telecommunications of Semnan province were also present.
