Consulo Scores in Every Match / Rising Star: Portugal Owes Barcelona!

The Portuguese fullback has scored in three consecutive matches and is in exceptional physical form.

According to "Sports Three", Joao Cancelo opened the scoring for Barcelona at Galatasaray by scoring a beautiful goal. It was the start of another high-scoring night for the team, who eventually ran out 4-1 winners, and it also underlined the Portuguese full-back's enviable goal-scoring ability.

32-year-old Cancelo has scored 4 goals in this season after playing 12 games for the national team of Portugal and Barcelona. In this second week of the European Champions League, he managed to score for the third game in a row and continued his scoring streak after the matches of his country's national team against Denmark and Norway.

The variety of his goals is also remarkable: his first goal of the season was scored against Racing, with a powerful and angled shot into the top corner of the goal, which was recognized as the best goal of September in LaLiga; In Copenhagen, after a combination with Goncalo Ramos, he put the ball over the goalkeeper's head; Against Norway, he sent an unstoppable shot from behind the penalty area. And in Istanbul, he hit the second shot with a sharp and angular shot. It's a variety of scoring methods for a player who shows no signs of slowing down and seems to be getting more complete by the day.

On the way to the best season in terms of scoring

In the 2026-27 season, Joao Cancelo has scored twice as many goals as he scored in the 2024-25 season. The 2024-25 season was his only full season at Al Hilal, which he left last January to return to Catalonia.

During his career, Cancelo has scored more than four times in just three seasons, which includes both club and national team: 5 goals in 44 games in 2015-16, another 5 goals in 58 games in 2020-21, and 8 goals in 65 games in 2022-23.

If he continues with this trend, there is no doubt that Cancelo can experience the most goalscoring season of his career in the 2026-27 season; At a time when he is also very comfortable playing on both sides of the pitch, he has become an indispensable player for both Barcelona and the Portuguese national team.
