Referring to the high capacity of egg production in the country, the head of the board of directors of Mehen Poultry Farmers Union said: Iran is currently the ninth egg producer in the world, and according to statistics, there is an annual production capacity of 2.7 million tons of eggs in the country.

According to Ambassador Arjan, Hamidreza Kashani stated that the amount of egg consumption in the country this year has not changed compared to the same period last year, and stated: Egg consumption per capita in Iran is equal to the world average, but compared to countries with higher per capita consumption, there is still a gap.

Referring to the ways to increase the consumption of eggs in the country, he added: culture-building about the nutritional value of eggs and its role in providing protein needs of households, along with reducing the cost of production and supplying raw materials at a reasonable price to producers, can help increase the per capita consumption of this product.

Stating that the cost of production in the country is high, Kashani emphasized the need to support producers and the role of the national media in creating culture to increase egg consumption.

The chairman of the board of directors of Mehen Poultry Farmers Union announced that the current per capita consumption of eggs in the country is about 14 to 15 kg per person per year and said: In terms of production capacity, there is no limit to increase per capita consumption and it is possible to produce 35 kg of eggs per person per year in the country.

Referring to the annual production capacity of 2.7 million tons of eggs in the country, he stated: If this capacity is realized, Iran can be among the first four egg producing countries in the world.
