Federation Presidency Candidate Objects to Assembly; 'Shooting Election Is Illegal, I Will File a Complaint!'
About two weeks before the Shooting Federation election, one of the candidates strongly objects to the removal of his name.
According to "Varzesh Se", after the administration of the shooting federation with a supervisor in recent months and also the change of the election date due to the Nagoya Asian Games, the issue of holding the elections of the shooting federation has taken a serious shape once again and according to the announcement of the Ministry of Sports, the shooting federation is supposed to know its new president on November 6th.
But in recent days, some issues have caused the federation elections to be criticized and protested by a number of candidates. One of them, Cengiz Mosibzadeh, is considered one of the military candidates for the election, who has a history of working in the army club and the general department of physical training of the army.
In a conversation with "Varzesh Se", Mosibzadeh gave explanations regarding his protests and the rumor of his withdrawal from the elections and said that when the candidates were registered for the elections, out of the ten candidates, five were military and five were civilians. The General Staff of the Armed Forces held a meeting with the presence of five military candidates, in which we were asked to step aside in favor of Mr. Jamshid Fuladi, who is himself responsible for the physical training of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. But due to the fact that I have many records in the field of shooting, I was a member of the national team for 15 years and I have worked in various positions in the federation for several periods.
He added: After some time, Mr. Jamshid Fuladi, who realized that he did not have the necessary votes, verbally withdrew his candidacy, and again a meeting was held with the presence of the rest of the candidates from the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and this time they introduced Abbas Mohammadi, who was the vice president of Sardar Ghorbani, the previous head of the Federation, as the choice of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and they told us that you should withdraw from the election.
Mosibzadeh further stated: As I said in this meeting, I announced that I am not ready. I withdrew because I entered the elections at the request of the shooting community and was supposed to participate as an independent candidate, but we were even threatened to withdraw or they will do something to prevent us from participating in the elections.
He continued: In recent months, the topic of introducing Mr. Abbas Mohammadi as the candidate for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Ministry of Sports has been discussed several times and even a letter has been sent in this regard and it has been stated that the other three military candidates do not have the right to participate in the elections and will withdraw in favor of him, while there is no such thing and I have also announced this issue to the Ministry of Sports and I am not ready to withdraw. This letter has no legal basis at all and I can participate in the elections according to the statute. The only issue for me, who is a soldier, was to follow up on my mission from my superior commander, which I provided to the Ministry of Sports along with his letter, and I have no prohibition according to the statute to participate in the elections.
In the end, Musibzadeh said: "Unfortunately, the issue of personalization and the interference of the Ministry of Sports and other institutions in the elections of federations in recent months has caused the elections of several federations to be canceled." If they follow the same procedure in shooting, it will definitely have the same fate. I am saying from here that if I cannot get my legal right and participate in the election assembly, I will definitely seek my right from the judicial authorities and international institutions.
