According to the Mehr reporter, Colonel Ali Asghar Kerzbar stated before Tuesday afternoon in the meeting to review and follow up the solutions to reduce urban and road accidents in the central province: The expansion of smart systems has provided the basis for more accurate identification of the offending vehicles and has increased the possibility of more effective monitoring of vehicle traffic.

He added: In the first half of this year, 293 people lost their lives in traffic accidents on the roads of Central Province, which shows a decrease of 10 people and equivalent to three percent compared to 303 deaths in the same period last year.

Kerzber stated: During this period, 3,690 accidents were recorded in the province, while this figure was 3,713 in the same period last year, which indicates a 1% decrease in the number of accidents.

The deputy head of the central province's road police emphasized: highways with 30%, main roads with 23% and freeways with 22% had the largest share in registered accidents in the province. Also, 20% of accidents occurred on two-way roads and 5% on rural roads.

Kerzber stated: Manipulating or covering up license plate numbers disrupts the possibility of vehicle identification and registration of traffic violations; Therefore, the traffic police continuously monitors these violations by using the capacity of intelligent video surveillance systems.

Krezber said: Any changes in license plate numbers or actions that are taken with the aim of preventing vehicle identification and disrupting the registration of violations will be followed up according to the regulations and legal action will be taken against the violators.
