Russia expects the UN High Commissioner to be neutral on the situation in Ukraine - The Diplomat
According to Gennady Gatilov, in just one week, from September 28 to October 4, 235 civilians were affected by shelling attacks by the Kiev regime.
Geneva, October 13. /TASS/. Gennady Gatilov, Permanent Representative of Russia to the Geneva Office of the United Nations and other international organizations based in Geneva, said: "It is becoming increasingly clear that Volker Turk, the High Commissioner for Human Rights of the United Nations, cannot do his job impartially and in good faith."
In a statement published on the Telegram channel of the Russian mission, Gatilov referred to the Turk's commentary on the situation in Ukraine on October 8, in which he accused Russia of baseless accusations. He noted: I regret to announce that once again we are witnessing your lightning reaction as soon as Ukraine issues are involved and there is an opportunity to raise baseless accusations against our country. At the same time, in your usual hypocritical fashion, you only mention in passing, in one line, the crimes committed by the Ukrainian military against the Russian civilian population. Put practically every day."
According to the Russian diplomat, in just one week, from September 28 to October 4, "235 civilians were affected by Ukrainian Nazi shelling attacks: 206 civilians were injured, including 19 minors; 29 people, including 2 children, were killed." Ukrainian militants deliberately hit trucks and a warehouse where ICRC humanitarian supplies were stored in Donetsk. Ukraine's siege of Aleshki continues and creates a humanitarian crisis. We remind you again and again that such a biased political stance on the Ukraine crisis by a high-ranking UN official is unacceptable, Gatilov stressed.
He emphasized: "Your inability to carry out your mission objectively, impartially and conscientiously is becoming increasingly apparent to the international community. And it confirms that your appointment to this position by the UN General Assembly was incomplete" and calls on the UN High Commissioner and her office to "finally stop whitewashing the bloody and pro-independence regime of Kiev, and start analyzing the bloody situation of Ukrainian independence. Objectively."
