Science Notes 25 to 27 Mehr 1349: One of our planes was hijacked and taken to Baghdad under the guidance of three Iranian students. Dust on these young people!
Asadullah Alam, in his diaries from 25 to 27 Mehr 1349, narrated Shah's joy after hearing the news of Jamal Abdul Nasser's death and the entanglement of oil negotiations in London, to the danger of the royal plane crashing and the destruction of the expensive party in Birjand.
According to the report of Ambassador Arjan, quoting the choice; Asadollah Alam (August 1, 1998 in Birjand - April 25, 1998 in New York), was one of the most important political figures of Mohammad Reza Shah's era, the minister of the court from 1998 to 1998 and the prime minister of Iran from 1999 to 1999.

I have not written anything until today 25/7/49. The reason is that my eye was hurting and still is, that is, because of working a lot at night, it has been put under a lot of pressure, and I should put less pressure at night and give my eyes a rest.
One of the strange things that have happened since that day was the sudden death of the Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser. On the morning of 7/7/49, when I was wearing formal clothes for Salam Ma'baath, I was listening to BBC radio at 6:30, and he gave this news. I fell into a strange state. All this ambition and killing and fratricide because of ambition ends in one. It seems that he died due to a heart attack, because he finished his work in a few hours.
When he went to Cairo airport to see off the last head of the Arab country who came to Cairo for the conference of Arab leaders about Jordan, the Emir of Kuwait. He gets sick and returns home and dies. At 7:30 a.m., I called the king on the phone. They said: I know and I know. I said: Now that we had established a relationship with him, should we mourn? They said: Of course. Then I said: Shall be sent or suspended? They said: Greetings, there is no obstacle. We established the greeting and the emperor was very cheerful! Of course, why? A big, dangerous competitor left forever! Nasser's death has long been the subject of discussions in Tehran and the world, what will happen to the peace plan after Nasser's death? If his successors are faster or slower, the situation will be different. Finally, the United Arab Republic Party, which is Egypt's only legitimate party, voted for Anwar Sadat, Nasser's deputy and one of his early colleagues, to replace him - perhaps the most moderate of all - and it seems that the pro-Western Muhyiddin, one of his former colleagues who had abandoned him for a long time, has no chance, that is, the Russians will not let him have a chance. In any case, Anwar Sadat will become the president with a general referendum after the vote of the National Assembly. The heads of many countries went to Cairo, the people also mourned, but Nasser will not be alive... I myself believed and still believe that [Nasser] was a man who had lost his father, that is, he was dishonest in every sense of the word.
Nasser had three stages in his life: first, he wanted to be the leader of the Arabs and revive [Arabism] [but] he almost failed. Later, he wanted to be the leader of the Arabs as a war with Israel, but he was almost destroyed by the disgraceful defeat of Israel. In the last resort, when he threw himself 100% into the arms of the Russians, under the pressure of the Russians - in my opinion - he wanted to be the leader of peace with Israel, which was a very difficult task. Because for 18 years he himself said that we should erase Israel from the world map and now he has to recognize its existence.
A strong group of devotees had turned green in front of him, which has the same doctrine as Nasser's. For this reason, he wanted to remove this thorn from the hands of King Hussein, and then when King Hussein could not do it easily and forced to kill and a severe massacre took place in Jordan, he attacked King Hussein with a letter from all the Arabs! From here, you can understand the degree of his fatherhood. It is said that in politics all these things are allowed and King Hossein had to go to the conference of leaders to defend himself and finally it led him to come to terms with Yasser Arafat.
One of our important domestic news is the failure of the oil negotiations in London that Dr. Iqbal and Dr. Falah have gone to negotiate so that we have an overdraft. The oil people, who know that our pockets are empty and our words are just words, do not worry much, even though we have made all kinds of threats and these threats have been made according to the orders of my emperor. Threatening to [pass the law] legislation or withdrawing some areas of privilege. The last threat we made, and it was severe, was in the emperor's orders on the day of the opening of the Senate, which I think was effective.
On Friday, when there was a horse race in the presence of Shahaneh in Farahabad, and I had invited the political delegation residing in the center, the British ambassador pulled me aside and said that tomorrow, which is the deadline for negotiations, should the negotiations be terminated, don't think of it as the last resort. I immediately told the emperor, they were happy and now they said with more force: Tell him, if we don't reach our goal, we will do our job. That is, by [passing the law] in the parliament, to take the oil at full price and sell it ourselves, or to take back some concession areas. Then... the oilmen asked for another month. Now I don't know whether they have given the loan that was supposed to be given by securing the oil revenues - 80 million dollars - or not?
We went on a trip to Kermanshah and Hamedan in the saddle of Shahnesha. Indeed, God protects the king. At Hamedan airport, the wheel of the Shahneshah jet aircraft hit the barbed wires around the airport, despite this, we sat down safely. Oh God, the greatness of God. The existence of this person is valuable for the country of Iran and the people of Iran. God does not keep him for nothing. If we were a millimeter lower and the wires were wrapped around the wheel, the job would be over. I felt this sound and movement while sitting.
The emperor himself was piloting the plane. Later I said: What was this sound? They said: We hit the wires because my eyes did not see. I said: Such a pilot has no right to fly the plane! They said just to laugh... The night we were in Hamadan, one of our planes was hijacked and taken to Baghdad under the guidance of three Iranian students. Dust on these young people! At least go somewhere else, why are you going to Baghdad? If they go now, they will regret it. [Iraq] is a country of animals, that is, its ruling body is predatory animals. Now they have kept Bakhtiar's wife and child and will not let them return to Switzerland....
I came directly from Hamedan to Birjand to receive the Shah and the Queen and seventy guests, as well as His Highness Humayun of Wilayat Ahd and His Highness Farhanaz and Alireza. I received guests and dignitaries in the tent and the Shahnesha in Akbariyeh, my home. Shahbanu's birthday was also held in Birjand on 22 Mehr. For this reason, I had brought the best chefs in the world from Maxim Paris restaurant to Birjand. Under the big tent that was left by my ancestor Amir Alam Khan. I gave royal dinners and lunches.
Almost three million rials were spent on these two nights of my party. On the second night of the stop, I took the queen and her highnesses and guests on a camel from Akbariyeh to Shaukatabad, which is seven kilometers away. Local dahl and serena were also [played] in the moonlight on the way, and local farmers danced in front of the fifty tents where we had lit a big fire. At this time, the emperor came from Akbariyeh to Shaukatabad by car. It was such an attractive situation that suddenly Her Highness Shahbanu started dancing and stomping with the women of Dhani, as well as His Highnesses. It was very interesting. I also danced with the people in front of the emperor. A pleasant night passed. The people of Birjand expressed passionate feelings for the Crown Prince, which moved me and I cried.
Today, 49.7.25, one day after the return of the royal procession, I will also return to Tehran. It's the fifteenth of Sha'ban, it's a blessed day - the thoughts of childhood and the birth of Imam Zaman, who was a great favorite of my late father and my mother, remain in my mind. Even though I'm tired, I'm happy that my beloved king and queen had a good time in Birjand and spent two days and nights free from the world's controversy. The prime minister and his wife were also in the saddle.
Today is a holiday and it is the celebration of the Imperial Air Force. I wanted to stay one more day in Birjand and rest. The emperor ordered: Come back soon, you must definitely be in Tehran at noon tomorrow (which is today)... It is now 12 noon. I will return to Tehran on the plane. We will land in Tehran in half an hour. It is a very slow plane with only two small engines. I am in this small plane with Mrs. Alam, my sister, Mrs. Khazimeh Alam, and my niece Sudabah, who is from my late sister and whom I love like my own daughters, but the weather is good.
