According to 9to5Mac, the iconic red Apple Music app icon has been replaced with a black and white version in the latest iOS 27.2 beta. The eighth note on the icon also seems to have a slightly sharper angle than the original note. The new Apple Music logo was also spotted on the Apple Music Hall website last month, so the company could update its app icon to match.

According to 9to5Mac, the new icon is a black musical note on a white background in light mode or vice versa in dark mode. The icon isn't the only thing that's been stripped of color — 9to5Mac also says that Apple Music widgets now have a black background, and the app now uses blue in the tab bar to indicate the active tab.

A user on X shared images of the new icon in different color modes, including a color version. So if the new monochrome version of the app makes its way to the general release of iOS, you might be able to use the color home screen option to make it look a bit like the old red version again.
