Omid Team: What Is the Football Federation's Youth Committee?
The Youth Committee and the National Teams Department play a role in the process of selecting the Omid team's head coach, and are traveling to Iraq to negotiate with Yahya Golmohammadi, board member and Technical and Development Director.
According to sports reporter Ambassador Arjan, while the selection of the head coach of Iran's Omid football team has once again become the topic of negotiations between the federation managers and the desired options, the role of the youth committee and the national teams department in this process is still in an aura of ambiguity. The two departments for which the federation's constitution has defined duties, but in the published news about the process of selecting the head coach of the Omid team, their names and specific roles are not seen.
Yahya Golmohammadi is the first choice of the Football Federation to lead the Omid team, and despite the opposition of Iraqi Dohok Club to his departure, the Federation continues its efforts. Based on this, Mohammad Rahman Salari, a member of the Federation's Board of Directors, and Ali Tarqolizadeh, the Technical and Development Director, are going to Iraq together with Golmohammadi's program manager to conduct the final negotiations.
But in the meantime, a fundamental question is raised; What is the position of the youth committee and the national team department in the process of choosing the head coach of the Omid team?
According to the text of Article 46 of the constitution, "The youth committee is responsible for supervising the men's national football teams, as well as supervising football talent scouting and supervising football schools throughout the country. This committee suggests the coaches of men's basic teams. This committee consists of a chairman, deputy and up to five members. Regarding this task, the role of the youth committee is not clear, and if this committee has a role to play, why does it not have a place in this negotiation?
On the other hand, referring to paragraph 7 of article 67 of the statute about the national team department also raises the question of what responsibility does this department have in the expert and executive process of selecting a head coach?
The issue is not only the choice of Yahya Golmohammadi; The discussion is about the decision-making mechanism in the football federation. If the youth committee is responsible for proposing the coaches of the grassroots teams and the national teams department also has its statutory duties, why is the role of these two departments not clear in one of the most important decisions related to the future of grassroots football?
