From next year, Iranian car manufacturers will face a new challenge. The National Standard Organization announced the increase of car standards from 85 to 122 items, which is done with the aim of improving safety and quality.

Although the implementation of these requirements has been delayed, it is expected to have a significant impact on the Iranian automobile industry and the market as well.

122 new mandatory standards are coming

In the commemoration ceremony of World Standards Day, the head of Iran's National Standards Organization announced the increase in the number of mandatory car standards to 122. He emphasized that people's safety is the red line of this organization and car manufacturers must update their production lines to meet these requirements. The implementation of this plan has been postponed to next year, considering enough time for adaptation.

In addition to technical requirements, the issue of the costs of quality assessment tests is also raised. Referring to the increase in the exchange rate, the head of the National Standard Organization announced the revision of the tariffs for these tests. Also, some executive approvals related to the payment of expenses due to legal challenges need to be re-examined by the Supreme Standards Council.
