Grace Helbig is struggling with cancer for the second time.
On Monday, the YouTuber and comedian posted a video on Instagram in which he shared that after going to the emergency room for numbness in his legs, doctors found two tumors in his brain. "He missed me. My cancer missed me. Why wouldn't he want to be in my body?"
Helbig will undergo brain surgery on Wednesday to remove the tumors, he said. I feel very positive and optimistic because these brain tumors are operable and it was not a given moment in time. It is very scary. He went on to explain that he and frequent collaborator Mamre Hart are canceling all of their 2026 podcast tour dates, rescheduling them for 2027. Helbig was diagnosed with triple-positive breast cancer in the summer of 2023 after noticing a small lump in her breast. "Check out those piles," he said at the time. "And what a silly question to ask the doctor." Popular in Variety
Helbig has treated both diagnoses with humor. "I asked the doctors, and they said a positive attitude can't fix it, but it can help," he joked in Monday's video. In 2023, in the midst of her first round of treatment, she said, “There's an irony here. The joke is not lost on me that I haven't used my breasts to get attention on the internet in 15 years, and yet here we are. And that I declare this in the season of Cancer. So what next? It's my job now and I'm fighting this little dog in my left breast as hard as I can. Pun intended."
