Will You Take Time Off Work or School to Play GTA 6 Next Month?

With just over 30 days until GTA 6 launches, the question is: will you take time off from work or school to play it?

There's just over 30 days until GTA 6's release, which begs the question: Will you be taking time off work or school to play it?

GTA 6 is one of the biggest pop culture events of the decade, if not all of history, and as such, it's expected to cause disruption. In addition to fears that the much-anticipated release of the game may cause instability for ISPs and platform servers, many companies are also expected to have an irregular number of employees for the day. For months, fans have been claiming on social media that they were submitting PTO requests before November to ensure they could have the game available for release weekend. So, will you be taking November 19 off? Let us know in the poll below, dear reader.

Are you taking a break to release GTA 6?

Yes, I am requesting/have already requested PTO

Yes, but I call in sick day.

Economists have estimated that in the week of launch, there will be a billion dollars in lost productivity due to people being absent from work. A car tuning company known as Burger Motorsports has even announced that it will be closed on November 19, the day of the game's release, due to high demand from employees on that day off. The Australian government has also released some interesting PSAs informing citizens of their rights while on vacation around the release of GTA 6.

The US Army even offered soldiers four days off to play if they re-enlisted. NBA star Steven Adams also joked that various sports leagues will see a drop in performance due to the release of GTA 6. Of course, Rockstar has sports fans aware of its upcoming game regardless of performance, thanks to an unprecedented GTA 6-themed NBA regular season game in Miami and a surprise promotion at Hard Rock Stadium, where the Miami Dolphins play.

It's likely that we'll see more companies join the GTA 6 hype as we get closer to the game's launch. Rockstar Games is making sure the whole world knows that its long-awaited release is almost here after multiple delays. A large number of advertisements have been spotted in and around Miami, New York and Paris. Rockstar is also investing a boatload of cash into the game's music, having produced an album full of original music from the likes of Cardi B, Travis Scott and Keith Richards. The game's radio stations will also be hosted by big artists like Lana Del Rey, Morgan Wallen, and Bad Bunny, where they'll perform a variety of original hits.
