Bloomberg reporter Mark German announced that Apple has almost completed the development of M6 chips. Apple has introduced the M6 chip in the Mac Mini and plans to release models equipped with this chip from the basic iMac and 14-inch MacBook Pro. However, the company has no plans to produce M6 Pro, M6 Max or M6 Ultra chips.

According to this reporter, Apple will go directly from the M5 Pro, M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips to the M7 generation. Future OLED MacBook Pro models will use the same M5 Pro and M5 Max chips that Apple uses in current MacBook models. Therefore, there will be no chip upgrade until 2027. The M5 Pro and M5 Max chips were launched in March.

According to Garman, the high-end MacBook Pro models with touch screen and M7 Pro and M7 Max chips will be released later next year. Also, an updated version of the low-end MacBook Pro with the M7 chip will be released next year, and the M7 Ultra chip is scheduled for the first half of 2028. Considering that the next generation Ultra chip is scheduled to be introduced in 2028, it is unlikely that Apple will launch a new Mac Studio in 2027.

Reports suggest that Apple plans to forgo the release of other M6 series chips to focus its resources on the development of the M7 chips. These chips use special technologies for processing workloads related to artificial intelligence.

It was previously reported that Apple plans to unveil the new generation of MacBook Pro with touch screen and iPad mini 8 with old screen in late October (around November 5). In addition to being equipped with a new screen, Apple's MacBook Pro touch will probably have a slimmer design and less weight than the previous generation.
