An opportunity to buy one of the strangest bridal cars (+ pictures)
This Porsche 356 limousine is an example of custom projects that take a classic car out of its original form and use and turn it into a completely different product.
Ambassador Arjan-Porsche never produced a factory version of the 356 limousine, but an American collector decided to make this unusual idea a reality. The result is a custom Porsche 356 that was commissioned in 2001 for the owner's daughter's wedding and is now up for auction online.
A custom project with several Porsche parts
In 2001, John Dixon, a Porsche collector, asked Dan Boke to build a limousine based on the Porsche 356. Bokeh used the front end of a 1953 Porsche 356 pre-model A and parts of several other cars from the same family to implement this project.
The body of the car is painted in Grand Prix white color and its rear doors open in the opposite direction. The white wall tires and the opening fabric roof are also other features of this special limousine.
A different cabin for weddings
The rear space of the car is designed to provide a private and comfortable environment. Champagne bottle holders, window curtains and a glass separator between the driver's cabin and the passenger compartment have given this Porsche a different atmosphere.
On the technical side, a flat-four engine with a modified structure from the Porsche 912 provides the driving force. This set is accompanied by a four-speed manual transmission and an air suspension system.
From private collection to online auction
The car was kept at Dixon's Taj Ma Garage for many years and was sold to another owner in 2019. This unique limousine is now up for auction.
According to information published in the ad, bids reached about $96,000.
