Implementation of the sugar refining and sugar candy and rock candy production project in Andimeshk has begun, backed by a 30,000 billion rial private-sector investment. The project aims to complete the sugar value chain, reduce production and transportation costs, and create 500 direct jobs.
The executive operations of the sugar refining and sugar cane production project in Andimeshk started with an investment of 30 thousand billion riyals from the private sector. The project is implemented with the aim of completing the sugar value chain, reducing production and transportation costs and creating 500 direct job opportunities.
According to the report of Khuzestan Ambassador Arjan, Mehram Ravanbakhsh, Director General of Khuzestan Industry, Mining and Trade, in the ceremony of starting the executive operations of this project in Andimshek industrial town No. 2, he considered the development of industrial and production activities as one of the requirements of the economic growth of the province and stated that economic development should not be stopped even in difficult conditions and the dynamic of different economic sectors should be provided with the continuation of investment.
Referring to the decrease in the share of Khuzestan in the country's gross domestic product, he said: the share of this province in the gross domestic product in 1390 was about 21%, which decreased to 15.2% in 1401. One of the important goals of the province is to increase this share again to 21% by the end of 1410.
Director General of Khuzestan Samat added: Andimshek is considered one of the target cities for the development of industrial infrastructure and attracting private sector investment due to its economic and geographical capacities and advantages. In recent years, various projects have been implemented or are being implemented in this city.
Emphasizing the necessity of completing production value chains, Ravanbakhsh stated: Identifying the missing links of industries and developing transformation and processing activities is one of the important approaches of this General Department. Because the production chain is not completed, a part of the province's products will be transferred to other regions for processing.
Referring to the annual production capacity of more than one million and 100 thousand tons of sugar in Khuzestan, he continued: a part of this product is left raw from the province due to the incompleteness of the value chain; While the development of transformation industries can create more added value and lead to job creation and sustainability of income in the province.
Ravanbakhsh stated: The implementation of the sugar refining and sugar and candy production plan in Andimshek, in addition to matching the industrial capacities of the city, completes one of the missing links in the value chain of this product and can help strengthen the region's economy.
He considered the establishment of processing units near the place of production of raw materials as an effective factor in reducing transportation costs and added: With the implementation of this plan, sugar and raw materials will be processed in the region and then distributed instead of being transferred to other provinces for processing. An issue that can reduce the total cost of production and distribution.
The director general of Samat Khuzestan also emphasized the role of private sector investors and said: continuous follow-up is one of the main factors in the realization of economic plans, and Samat Group and the Industrial Towns Company consider themselves obliged to accompany and facilitate the implementation of industrial projects.
In the end, he considered the cooperation of operating banks, executive bodies and the private sector to be necessary to provide financial resources and accelerate the implementation of industrial and job-creating projects.
