The currency of medical equipment should not be caught in Darvar plan

A member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Manufacturers and Exporters of Medical Equipment, called for the unification of exchange rates in the field of medical equipment.

According to Ambassador Arjan Hamidreza Alaei, on the sidelines of the Iran Fashion 2026 exhibition in Shahr Aftab, he said: The acceptance of the exhibition of medical, dental, laboratory and pharmaceutical equipment has increased by more than 50% compared to previous periods.

Referring to the presence of various companies in this year's exhibition, he added: The country is in a state of war and the role of suppliers and manufacturers of medical equipment is very important.

Appreciating the reception of medical equipment officials and supervisors from the Iran Fashion 2026 exhibition, Ala'i said: In this regard, while familiarizing with the challenges and problems of this field, necessary measures are taken to minimize people's problems.

He said that one of the most important common challenges between manufacturers and suppliers of medical equipment is the issue of supply and exchange rate and added: Medical equipment activists, both manufacturers and importers, are not in favor of preferential and subsidized currency, because it creates obligations that make the work very difficult.

A member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Manufacturers and Exporters of Medical Equipment said: If the exchange rate is equalized, more than 90% of the problems will be solved, and this difference should be transferred to the end of the chain, and although there has been a lot of talk about this, it has not been implemented.

Referring to the failed experience of the Darwar project, he said: instead of paying the targeted organization, the subsidies were allocated to three basic insurances, including health insurance, social security, and armed forces insurance, because currently nearly 100% of people are somehow covered by one of these basic insurances, and we actually witnessed that with the implementation of this plan, the budget was diverted and it was given to a targeted organization, which was a very big mistake and caused many injuries.
