IGN Fan Fest: Fall Edition is rolling out all week with tons of first looks, exclusive reveals, and deep dives into some of the biggest games on PC, consoles, and mobile.

As part of the event, we want to take an in-depth look at what's next: some games you haven't heard of yet, but are sure to make it to the top of your Steam wishlist. From co-op survival adventures, brand new horror games, relaxing survival games, mysteries, and even a chess-based shooter, here's a look at 9 newly announced games we think are worth checking out.

Embark on a chilling survival adventure with a talking fire as your guide. Explore, craft, fish and hunt during the day and ask your fire three questions each night. Choose wisely: winter is not the only wonder in this beautiful and handmade world. Playable in cozy or real mode.

There is a problem in the swamp. Aquamurta is a first-person horror adventure set in a forgotten swamp town, where something ancient has driven society into hysteria. Explore the abandoned buildings and rotten waterways around the city. Use an old-fashioned map and compass to find your way, catch the blood that keeps your airship moving, and learn what lies beneath the surface. As you go deeper into the swamp, you will discover the story of what happened here and what is still missing.

Checkmate Protocol is a chess-themed third-person shooter with unique weapons, chess-themed movement abilities, and no-holds-barred boss fights. Fight alone, or team up with an arsenal of rifles, handguns and chainsaws to defeat the waves of attackers ahead. Coming soon to Steam.

In most tower defense games, you combine towers. In Crown Must Hold you combine empires.

Each empire is a system unto itself, with its own buildings and its own rules for how they work together. You insert yours into a procedurally generated border, equip them with items that draw the path in one direction, and enhance the entire build with biomes you claim as you expand. Push for the resources you need and the dead will have a longer front to hit you.

A five-region campaign unlocks a new empire, biome, and castle as you clear each region, then unlocks endless mode.

Silk & Sorrow is a dark fantasy co-op adventure made exclusively for two players. This game tells the story of two orphans named Silk and Sorrow who fall into Chrysalis, a hidden world where everything that humanity has thrown away ends up. Together, they must explore a terrifying landscape made of the forgotten remnants of the upper world, survive its twisted horrors and corrupt inhabitants, and restore light to Chrysalis. Silk & Sorrow can be played both co-op and online, requiring players to communicate, solve problems and trust each other to survive in a world where every step brings new dangers and disturbing discoveries.

Silk & Sorrow is coming to PC via Steam, and Season 1 will be released as a demo in Winter 2027.

Float through space as Splizard on a meteorite in this co-op survival adventure. Collect moving resources, craft tools and expand your meteor into a traveling base. Hordes of bloodthirsty space mosquitoes lurk in the darkness, and powerful monsters guard the secrets of survival.

Step into the cockpit as mercenary pilot Ivan and fight alongside the mech-with-a-soul Machine Spirit in The Forge: Steel Frontier, an upcoming mech action game. The sleeping dragon has a strange and rare mineral, and when the wolves come after the ore, you and your mech must make a choice, and the fate of the planet hangs in the balance.
