100% Readiness for Crisis Response Is Essential

Ahvaz — Khuzestan Governor announced the identification of 35 water-accumulation risk points in Ahvaz and stressed 100% readiness and round-the-clock work to counter possible combined conditions.

Ahvaz - The governor of Khuzestan announced the identification of 35 dangerous points of water accumulation in Ahvaz and emphasized on 100% preparation and round-the-clock work to deal with possible combined conditions.

According to Mehr reporter, Seyyed Mohammad Reza Mowalizadeh, in a meeting with the director general and staff of the provincial crisis management headquarters on the occasion of the National Day of Natural Disaster Reduction, said: I feel it necessary to thank and appreciate the efforts of those involved in crisis management. We are located in a province that has special conditions and faces all kinds of incidents.

Pointing to the variety of natural crises in the province, he added: from torrential rains, storms, fires, issues related to khoralazim, gas explosions in some centers, accidents in refineries and petrochemicals, all these issues are separate from the issue of war, and besides that, we also have war conditions and we must be prepared.

Referring to the special conditions ahead, the governor of Khuzestan stated: We are in a special condition, which is the phenomenon of El Nino and torrential rains, followed by flooding and accumulation of water in different parts of the province. Only in Ahvaz, we have at least 35 points that are dangerous and there is a possibility of water accumulation in them, and regular meetings are held in this regard.

Referring to the possibility of a combination of natural crisis and war, Mowalizadeh pointed out: There may be a situation where a combination of a natural disaster and a cruel war by the criminal enemies of America and the usurping Zionist regime may occur. When such combined conditions are created, the work naturally becomes more difficult and complicated, and the need for more presence, 100% readiness, and round-the-clock work is felt more.

Appreciating the efforts of the crisis management staff, he said: I saw that the people involved are really hard at work, they try, they spend time, they show up in the middle of the night and in difficult situations, and sometimes they have to be at the mission for several days.

Referring to the existing problems and deficiencies, the governor of Khuzestan said: There are deficiencies, defects, payment problems and livelihood issues, but despite all these, the workers are still working and we came today to say goodbye and thank them for their efforts and hard work.

Emphasizing on the continuation of coordination meetings, Mowalizadeh stated: We will have another opportunity to serve those involved and we will hold joint meetings to investigate and solve the existing issues and problems and provide the necessary preparation to face the upcoming conditions in the province.
