Fiat Multiplay, a new concept car unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, offers an innovative combination of SUV, family van and pickup features in a revolutionary package.
By unveiling the Multiplay concept car at the Paris Motor Show, Fiat has revived the spirit of the memorable Multipla van with a modern and multi-purpose approach. Introduced with the slogan "3 in 1", this concept tries to gather the space efficiency of a family van, the strong character of an SUV and the versatility of a pickup in a single vehicle. The ultimate goal is to provide an ideal solution for families who deal with a variety of activities throughout the day such as work, school, sports and outdoor recreation.
Innovative design and transformability of Metamorfosi
In terms of design, the Fiat Multiplay appears to be an evolution of the 2024 Fiat concept pickup, with changes to the shorter hood, cabin shape, and Pixel LED lights inspired by the Grande Panda. The high height from the ground and the plastic covers around the wheel arches have given it an SUV-like and quasi-crossover appearance.
The most innovative feature of Multiplay is its ability to transform into different bodies thanks to the Metamorfosi architecture. The rear part of the roof slides forward along with the third row of seats, turning this car into a four-seater two-cabin pickup with an open cargo area.

In pickup mode, the concept has a two-part tailgate, a retractable cover for the cargo compartment and a smart system to keep the cargo stable on the modular floor. The roof fin can also be rotated to reveal an integrated bike rack for carrying bikes.
The modular interior and the future of Fiat Multiplay
Fiat Multiplay has a length of 4.45 meters, which makes it shorter than the Jeep Compass. In the SUV configuration, this car uses a three-row cabin with 1+6 seats, which is designed for families. The "+1" refers to the dedicated pet seat in the second row, which is distinguished by the absence of a backrest and a green cover. The interior is decorated with a combination of orange and green colors, a futuristic dashboard, a Yoke steering wheel and an ultra-wide screen. The front passenger seat can also be converted into a comfortable reclining seat.
Fiat hasn't released exact details on the Fiat Multiplay's platform or powertrain, but given the lack of room for an internal combustion engine in the front, it's likely to be an all-electric vehicle. Fiat emphasizes that the Multiplay is not a preview of a specific production model, but rather a "laboratory of solutions for future mobility" and some of its innovative features could make their way into the company's future product line.
Although the "3-in-1" concept may be too radical for mass production, Fiat could introduce an integrated pickup based on the Grizzly platform to replace the Fiat Toro in South America.
