The Asian Games gold medal was empty in my collection/ I proudly presented my medal to the women of Iran

The Iranian rowing national said: This medal was especially important for me, because there was no Asian Games medal in my sports collection.

According to Ambassador Arjan Zainab Nowrozi, Iran's national rowing player said about the level of rowing competitions in the Asian Games: the level of the competitions was really high and Olympic athletes of a very high level participated in these competitions. Before sending to the Asian Games in Iran, we had done very good training and the times we recorded in the training were really at the level of a gold medal. For this reason, we went to the competition with specific goals and preparations.

He added: Of course, my situation was a little different at some point due to the problems and issues that existed. Since we went to the Urmia camp, I was away from the camps and trained individually for a while, but after returning to the camp and starting training again under the supervision of the coach, I found very good conditions and returned to my peak days.

The Iranian women's rowing national team continued: There were almost three months left until the Asian Games, when I decided to put all asides and focus only on my main goal. My goal was clear; I wanted to win a gold medal. Thank God, I reached this goal and was able to fulfill one of my childhood dreams.

Referring to the first doubles gold medal for Iranian women in the Asian Games, Nowrozi said: Every athlete fights for the most beautiful medal. We also did all the work needed to achieve the gold medal in the training section and left the rest to God. We said that whatever is good, let it happen, and thank God that in the end, the best thing happened for Iranian women's rowing.

He emphasized: The first ones are sweet and lasting for athletes. The fact that we were able to win the first gold medal for Iranian women's rowing in the Asian Games is a very important event, and I hope that this success will be the beginning of bigger events for Iranian rowing.

Nowrozi also said about Asian competitors: We have very tough competitors in Asia. Many Asian teams have distinguished themselves from the Asian level and are also winning medals at the World Championships. However, Iranian rowing has made great progress in recent years.

He added: "It is true that we cannot participate in all world competitions due to the current conditions, but we practice so well that the times we record in Iran are truly at the world level." Even though we were training at high altitude and our race was held at a different track, we recorded good times. I believe that if we had the opportunity to continuously participate in the world championships, we could also compete for medals. I am really happy that today we can speak with strength about the high level of Iranian rowing.

Nowrozi said about the importance of this medal for himself: This medal was especially important for me, because there was no Asian Games medal in my sports collection. I really wanted this to happen to me during the Asian Games and I really worked hard to achieve it.

He continued: I went through a lot of hardships, I was hurt, and I felt that my right was lost at times, but I think that every door that was closed to me, God opened another door for me in the competition. I myself could not believe that after all the events that had happened, I would be able to win this medal at that moment.

Norouzi noted: Many people tried to keep me away from this medal and I couldn't get it, but I fought for it and God helped me. I am really grateful for this.

He also said about the weather conditions of the venue of the tournament: We had checked the weather conditions before sending. There was the question of humidity and the air being humid, and the conditions there were somewhat similar to the northern regions of the country and Anzali, but it was not as annoying as we imagined.

Nowrozi added: We went to Japan about five or six days earlier and did our training in one of the cities of this country. This helped a lot, both to set up the boat and to adapt to the weather and environment there.

He continued: We had gone to Japan from a high altitude and dry weather conditions, and there we encountered the humidity and harshness of the air. Naturally, these differences could have a negative impact on our performance, but the fact is that we did not think about these issues at all during the race. All our focus was on one thing; Gold medal.

In the end, Norouzi said about who he would present this medal to: I would really like to present this medal to the dear people of my country, especially the women and girls of Iran. Our people continue to support the athletes and always pray for us in the days when they are going through difficult situations and have many worries. I believe that people's positive energy and prayers help us athletes, and God also hears these prayers and gives us strength.

The Iranian women's rowing national team noted: I hope this medal can reduce some of the fatigue and worries of our beloved people. This medal belongs to them and I proudly present it to the people of Iran, especially the women and girls of my country.
