Senate Republicans Settle Six-Year-Old Debt After Social Media Callout
After the founder of Holly's Sweet Treats called out Senator Roger Marshall's campaign for pressuring his company over its 2020 purchase, the debt was paid.
Sen. Roger Marshall is calling for a special counsel to investigate Fauci over the COVID texts
Following newly released text messages from Dr. Anthony Fauci that reveal private concerns about the abortion risks of vaccines, Sen. Roger Marshall is calling for a special counsel to investigate the former NIAID director. Marshall asserts that Congress can only reveal the truth, while a special counsel has prosecutorial powers.
Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., paid a six-year advertising bill after a bakery owner slammed him on social media for allegedly failing to pay for cookies and other treats ordered for a 2020 election watch party.
Holly Thomas, the bakery's founder, said in an Oct. 8 Facebook post that she would never vote for Marshall because his campaign had failed to pay the $678.75 bill despite his repeated efforts to raise money.
Thomas shared an image of the invoice and a photo that appeared to show custom cookies made for the Marshall campaign.
"Do you know why I will never vote for Roger Marshall? Because six years ago, when I was a brand new small business owner, his campaign ordered cookies and treats from my bakery for his primary watch party. And I never got paid. For nearly a year, I made repeated attempts to get paid, by phone and email. I never got a phone call back, and Thomas wrote in a letter."
The dormant Senate race has emerged as an unexpected headache for Republicans ahead of the midterms
"Not only was I just starting out, but we were also in the middle of COVID, when small businesses everywhere were trying to just keep their doors open. Every dollar counted. These cookies and treats cost money, staff time to prepare and resources that my small business couldn't afford," she explained.
"Six years later, I haven't forgotten. This is not about political parties or political differences. This is about my personal experience as a small business owner and the importance of meeting financial obligations. This experience is why Roger Marshall will never get my vote."
Marshall — who was serving in the U.S. House of Representatives when he won election to the U.S. Senate in 2020 — addressed the issue on Oct. 10, sharing a screenshot showing a $1,300 payment to the entity.
The Republican senator claimed Schumer was behind the "hit job" report on former patients
As some people may have seen, there was a post on social media about an unpaid 2020 Biscuit bill. We have absolutely no idea how this happened, but rest assured that as soon as it became known to us, we immediately tried to contact the business to apologize and have double-billed the bill since 2020."

Thomas confirmed that the bill had been paid.
But I can officially confirm that Roger Marshall has paid his bill! Better late than never, right? Six years later, I guess Zenmau wrote in part of a Facebook post: "Thank you all for your incredible support! Now, back to doing what I do best!”
Marshall is seeking re-election this year.
