The vice president's emphasis on the development of 5G internet / an important condition for the future of the country's technology

Hossein Afshin considered the development of the fifth generation of mobile communications as one of the important infrastructures of the country and expressed hope that the necessary infrastructures will be provided for its realization.

Hossein Afshin, the public deputy of the president, told reporters on the sidelines of the seminar "Urban concepts transformation and the path towards knowledge-based, smart and cognitive cities" at the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce: We are trying to investigate and explain issues in different chains in different areas of technology governance, considering the change of paradigms; Because sometimes we promote models, but if we do not express them clearly, others will not get a precise understanding of the issue. Referring to the role of the urban and rural environment in the development of science and technology, he added: One of the factors that helps the progress of knowledge-based companies, universities and technology in the country is the environment in which these capacities operate.

The Scientific Deputy of the President continued by referring to the different patterns of classification of cities in the world: cities are classified based on characteristics such as knowledge-oriented, development of digital infrastructure, smartness and use of artificial intelligence; But an advanced city is a city where people don't face any difficulty in doing their administrative affairs and can use the available facilities to achieve more comfort and well-being. Stating that the provision of such conditions will help create a market for knowledge-based companies, Afshin said: In this direction, knowledge, ideas and technology should enter urban life and help improve people's conditions.

Emphasizing the necessity of changing the view of city managers, he clarified: it is not possible to imagine that prosperity has been created simply by creating advanced infrastructure, using artificial intelligence or digitizing services. These technologies are tools, and the first step is to change the view of managers so that they can use the existing tools to provide more suitable conditions in the city. The scientific deputy of the president also said about the internet infrastructure: one of the most important infrastructures of the country is the internet, and we must move towards the development of the fifth generation of mobile communications (5G). The Ministry of Communications is also making efforts in this field and we hope that the necessary infrastructure will be provided. At the end, Afshin emphasized: Technological infrastructure is a necessary condition, but it is not sufficient. Managers should move away from the bureaucratic approach and move towards pragmatism.
