The need to place the garden restoration plan on the council's agenda
Criticizing the indecisiveness of a plan to support and revive the capital's gardens, the head of the Civil and Infrastructure Committee of the Tehran Islamic Council announced: During the review of this plan, more than a thousand garden cases with an average area of at least a thousand square meters were identified, which included a total of more than one million square meters of garden space.
According to Ambassador Arjan, the head of the Civil and Infrastructure Committee of the Tehran Islamic Council criticized the indecision of a plan to support and revive the capital's gardens and announced: During the review of this plan, more than a thousand garden cases with an average area of at least 1000 square meters were identified, which included a total of more than one million square meters of garden space. But due to the plan not reaching the council, the opportunity to revive these gardens with the participation of the owners was lost.
In the 438th session of Tehran Islamic Council, Hojjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Mohammad Aghamiri, addressing the Board of Directors and the Architecture and Urban Planning Commission of the Council, stated: The draft of this plan was prepared in late 1400 and after several stages of examination and review, it is ready to be presented in the Council. Despite the investigations carried out and the approval of the municipality and the majority of council members, the plan was never presented and approved in the council.
Referring to the capacity of this plan to revive Tehran's gardens, he added: During the investigations, we had more than a thousand garden files with an average area of at least a thousand square meters; That is, more than one million square meters of gardens, which could provide the grounds for reviving the properties of more than 60% of people's properties in the form of gardens by the regulation that was prepared based on it.
Aghamiri stated that many of these gardens were practically out of the cycle of maintenance and restoration due to the existing conditions and lack of building permits; He stated: In many cases, instead of having an incentive to preserve and water the trees, the owners faced a situation where they practically abandoned the maintenance of the gardens.
Meanwhile, with the approval of the proposed plan, we could witness the revival of hectares of gardens by the people themselves.
The head of the construction and infrastructure committee of the Islamic Council of Tehran emphasized the need for transparency in determining the tasks of the capital's gardens and noted: "Today, if we are concerned about the decline of Tehran's gardens, we must have a transparent mechanism so that the status of the gardens and the criteria for their recognition are clearly defined, and the owners also know what criteria they are facing."
In the end, criticizing the fact that this plan was not presented after four to five years of follow-up, he addressed the head of the council and the architecture and urban planning commission and said: This plan was approved by the municipality and most of the members of the council agreed with it, but unfortunately it never came to the floor of the council. My complaint with His Highness and the relevant commission is why, despite all these investigations and follow-ups, the opportunity to approve a plan that could help preserve and revive Tehran's gardens was not provided.
