The Bureau of Prisons insists a dust-up with a drug dealer was not what sent Sean Combs to hospital last week with a head injury. However, the actual cause of the injury and Combs' current status remain under wraps.
Officials at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey said of the reports by TMZ and others: "While for privacy, safety and security reasons we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, we can tell you that the story you are referring to is false and did not happen." Antitrust News Experts are skeptical about the White House's suspension of TV networks Sean Combs' legal networks and the injury of more than 4,200 residents. Violations
Coca-Cola may not have been involved, but it's clear something was off, as Combs was rushed to a local hospital early on October 10 due to a problem with his nougat. He returned to Ft. Dicks about 12 hours later, without stitches or significant treatment, I'm told. Since then, the entire situation has been literally and figuratively locked down.
In July 2025, he was convicted by a New York jury of two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution. After an ambiguous and violent trial, Combs was sentenced in September 2025 to 50 months in prison with time served.
With the release date pushed back and forth since then, Didi is currently slated for release on March 2, 2028.
It's very rare for the BoP to reveal anything about an inmate, no matter how famous they are. However, regarding Combs and the leak about what happened last week, it appears that some information or misinformation came from within the Ft. Dix and the authorities felt compelled to address the issue. BoP added today: "Sean Combs is in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons and is incarcerated at the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution. Beyond that, we have no further information to provide."
In fact, I've learned that even people close to Combs know very little.
"We appreciate the clarification from the BOP that confirms our concerns about the accuracy of the initial reports," Combs spokeswoman Judah Engelmeyer told Deadline Thursday. We have not independently verified the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident and do not want to speculate on what may or may not have happened. "At this point, we have no confirmed information that Sean was assaulted or injured by Christopher Cook or anyone else."
Combs has been in solitary confinement since pictures of him on a smuggled smartphone and other luxuries were released. Stuck in the SHU (Special Housing Unit), Combs has very limited contact with the outside world.
This communication is limited by design and appears by choice.
During the past week, Didi has not used the daily call that he is allowed to call his lawyers on the base. He also did not contact the other representatives from Solo. Because Combs, 56, is over 18, the Bureau of Prisons does not have to release information about him to anyone. Simply put, if Combs wants someone, anyone, to know what's going on, this is her call.
The founder of Bad Boy Records has had no such call.
The mitigating factor may be when he is released from the SHU. Unless another incident occurs, Combs will be in solitary confinement for at least another week, sources said.
Out in the free world, Combs is fast-tracking his case after failing to secure a pardon for his old friend, Donald Trump. At the same time, the multiple Grammy-winning accuser is fighting several civil cases and possible sex charges by the Los Angeles County District Attorney.
After a trial in the summer of 2025, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York tried to convince a Manhattan jury that he was guilty of conspiracy and sex trafficking. Had Combs been found guilty in a courtroom filled with filmed sex parties and outlandish shenanigans, beating Cassie Ventura, using drugs, making threats, blowing up cars and apparently hanging people from balconies, the mini-mogul could have been sentenced to life in prison.
