Few phones have been more anticipated than a foldable iPhone, but it's finally here. The iPhone 2 was unveiled during Apple's "Surprise and Shine" event alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 models.

Apple's first foldable phone has a 5.4-inch outer display and opens to reveal its 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display. Apple Pencil support is coming later this year. While it lacks Face ID for face unlock, there is a Touch ID sensor on the edge to recognize your fingerprint. The device is IP68 rated, with a ceramic shield 2 on the back, with a ceramic screen cover on the front. This A20 Pro chipset is the same as the iPhone 18 Pro. Notably, the Duo has the same 48MP Fusion camera as the 18 Pro, though it doesn't have a variable aperture.

The foldable will come in two colors, White Star and Night Sky, and will start at $1,999 for the 256GB version. You can pre-order the unlocked version now ahead of its Friday, October 23rd release date from Apple and Best Buy.

If you're looking to buy from a carrier, several offer promotions.

AT&T is offering new and existing customers up to $1,200 off the iPhone Duo with a qualifying deal applied through 36 monthly bill credits. Customers who switch to AT&T can also get up to $800 in rewards cards to help pay off their existing phone balance. Additionally, customers who activate a new eligible line online can save up to $200 per line through 36 monthly bill credits.

T-Mobile is offering up to $1,000 off the iPhone Duo with qualifying trades in the Experience Beyond or Go5G Next plans. Alternatively, you can get the same deal-free discount when adding a new line and switching from another carrier.

Verizon is waiving its $40 activation fee for new customers who pre-order the iPhone Duo. You can pay $55.55 per month over 36 months with 0% APR. Verizon, on the other hand, offers a Simplicity Pro package for $72.22 a month that bundles the phone with extra benefits like two extra TravelPass days a month and lets you upgrade your phone up to twice in a 12-month period.
