Russia-Trump Deal Reached Quickly / Putin's Two-Week Condition for Diesel Shipments to the US
Alexander Novak Reveals Sudden Lifting of Fuel Sanctions and Preparation of 3 Million Tons of Diesel for Export to the US.
Alexander Novak added on Thursday in a gathering of reporters on the sidelines of the 8th "Russian Energy Week" international forum in Moscow: In order to deliver diesel cargo, a contract must be concluded, the fuel loaded, the ship rented and sent to the consumer; All these procedures take two to three weeks. Therefore, it is necessary to reach an agreement quickly now.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia said about how to determine the price of diesel for the United States - at the market rate or at a discount - this issue will be determined in the trade negotiations of the two countries.
In response to a question about the possible extension of the US license to export Russian diesel after April 2027, Novak clarified: Currently, such negotiations are not on the agenda and it is too early to talk about its extension, we have to see how the situation goes.
He emphasized that currently only the supply of Russian diesel is being discussed and there are no negotiations on other oil products.
In response to the question of whether other countries besides America have expressed interest in importing Russian diesel, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia said: Russian diesel is in demand all over the world, and therefore, other fuel-consuming countries are also interested in receiving these shipments.
He continued: Russian oil companies are ready to start sending diesel fuel to world markets at any time, and negotiations on commercial terms are currently underway.
Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, the Presidents of Russia and the United States, on Friday, October 17, 1405, discussed various issues, including the supply of oil products, in a telephone conversation. According to Putin, Moscow confirmed its readiness to supply oil and oil products to the US and world markets.
Washington also announced that it has canceled the US sanctions against the supply of Russian diesel to the world market until April 18, 1406.
After that, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Novak said: "Moscow has started lifting the ban (internally set by the Russian government in the field) on the export of diesel ahead of schedule and is ready to supply 300,000 tons in October, 500,000 tons in November, and one million tons in December, and finally increase this volume to three million tons per month."
Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Kremlin, also told reporters today that significant amounts of diesel have been made available for Russian export. These shipments will enter the world markets and have a definite positive effect on the stability of the oil markets; Of course, one should not expect complete stability, because one should be realistic in this regard. Currently, the energy markets and especially the oil markets are in a very tense situation at the global level.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia also said on Thursday: Moscow plans to continue importing gasoline at least until the end of 2026 in order to meet the needs of the market and complete the capacity of reserves.
He stated: We will import gasoline at least until the end of 2026, because we have to supply the domestic market and, on the other hand, to complete the fuel warehouses that have been reduced in the summer with the aim of meeting domestic needs.
Previously, following the Ukrainian drone attacks on energy facilities and oil refineries in different regions of Russia, which led to some disruptions in the supply of fuel in this country, Moscow decided to stop the export of petroleum products such as gasoline and diesel.
