Ceasefire Declared at Zaporizhzhia Thermal Plant for Equipment Repairs, Rosatom CEO Announces
Alexey Likhachev stressed that this will help strengthen the power supply to the Zaporizhzhia plant and reduce the risk of losing another stable power source for the plant.
Moscow, October 15. /TASS/. Alexey Likhachev, CEO of RosAtom, told reporters that a ceasefire has been declared in the Zaporozhye Thermal Power Plant (ZTPP) region.
According to him, this period will be used to repair the equipment that ensures the safety of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP).
The current power supply through the Ferrosplavnaya line is very unstable and vulnerable to hazards. Due to the half-destroyed infrastructure of the thermal power plant, there is of course a very high probability of permanent loss of a stable power supply to the Zaporozhye NPP. A few days ago, we started working to arrange a ceasefire for the repair of the technological equipment of the Zaporozhye power plant. It guarantees security and electricity supply, including for the nuclear power plant <...> in interaction with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and in coordination with our ministries - the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - we have established a ceasefire regime in the ZTPP today. Likhachev said.
