Why Can't Saudi Arabia Stop Attacks by Yemeni Forces?
The Financial Times examined the reasons behind Saudi Arabia's failure to stop the successful attacks by Yemen's armed forces against the kingdom.
The Financial Times pointed out the reasons for the failure of Saudi Arabia against the successful attacks of the Yemeni armed forces against this country.
According to Ambassador Arjan, the Financial Times newspaper reported that Saudi Arabia's defense problem is not related to the amount of military spending or having advanced defense systems, but to the advancement of the tactics of the Yemeni armed forces and the reduction of Riyadh's interception ammunition, as well as the expansion of targets in Saudi Arabia and the difficulty of targeting mobile missile launch platforms.
According to this report, Samad 2 and Samad 3 long-range drones are used to find out the coverage of the Saudi defense systems. After that, the cruise missiles fly at a low altitude and may change their course, which makes it difficult to monitor and track them.
Sasha Brokhman, a researcher at the International Strategic Research Institute based in Bahrain, emphasized that the Yemeni armed forces have adopted the strategy of depleting Saudi Arabia's defense reserves. Based on this, the Yemeni forces hit an important target in consecutive days, so that Saudi Arabia is forced to send its limited defense systems to that direction. After that, the area from which these systems are removed will be observed and facilities that are less supported will be destroyed.
The Yemeni attacks, which are geographically scattered in Saudi Arabia, cause the country's defense systems to be constantly moving.
Bilal Saab, one of the directors of Trends Institute and researcher of Chatham House, also said: Saudi Arabia's recent failures are related to Ansarullah's tactics and coordination problems between the country's defense systems. Complete air defense is not possible.
According to the Financial Times report, Yemenis have realized the weaknesses of Western radars and defense systems since years of war with Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the United States. They also benefit from Iran's experiences in the battle with Israel and America.
