Al-Gharafa Players Admit Responsibility After Loss to Esteghlal: The Defeat Is Our Fault

Following a 2-1 defeat to Esteghlal in the AFC Champions League Elite, players of Qatar's Al-Gharafa accepted responsibility for the setback, citing missed chances and their team's mistakes.

After the 2-1 defeat against Esteghlal in the Asian Elite League, Qatar's Al-Gharafa players accepted the responsibility for this failure, referring to the missed opportunities and mistakes of their team.

According to the reporter of Mehr, Al Gharafa and Esteghlal football teams faced each other in the second week of the group stage of the Asian Elite League on Monday, October 20th.

Alaeddin Hassan, the player of Al Gharafa Qatar football team, said in a conversation with Elkas Network: Unfortunately, Al Gharafa has not been able to score a point after two games in this competition. In the first match against Al-Hilal, we performed well, but we were upset and luck was not on our side.

He added: "We had opportunities to score in today's game, but we couldn't use them." On the other hand, the Iranian team was ready and entered the field with an offensive approach and was able to take advantage of its opportunities.

Accepting the responsibility for this defeat, the Al-Gharafa player said: We players take responsibility for this result and we must accept our mistakes. In our previous game in the domestic league, we made mistakes that cost Al-Gharafa a lot, and unfortunately we saw the same things happen again today and lost the points.

Hassan continued: The start of this season for Al Gharafa was contrary to what is expected from this team. We tried to win, correct the situation and get back on the right track, but so far we have not succeeded.

In the end, he noted: We wanted to win this game, make the fans happy and return to the path of victories and the permanent position of Al-Gharafa, but this did not happen. I hope the situation will change in the future games and we can get better results. I offer my condolences to the fans for this defeat and hope to make up for it in the next matches.

Farjani Sassi, a player of Qatar's Al-Gharafa football team, who scored the team's only goal in the match against Esteghlal, said after the 2-1 defeat of Iran's representative in the Asian Elite League: "Unfortunately, Al-Gharafa lost in its second game in this competition and has yet to score a point, but these results do not necessarily indicate the quality of the team's performance."

He added: I think we performed very well in this match and created many opportunities to score, but this is football and sometimes bad luck prevents the team from achieving the desired result. We try and continue to work to change the situation.

Al-Gharafa player continued: Each of us should try to improve our performance and avoid repeating mistakes. I hope that Al-Gharafa will return to the right path by winning the first victory. I trust my teammates and I'm sure we can come back stronger than before.

In response to a question about the reasons for Al-Gharafa's failure, Sasi said: Bad luck was one of the factors of these results, but we were also faced with a problem of concentration to some extent, and this is normal in football. A team that makes fewer mistakes and is more focused will have a higher chance of winning.

In the end, he emphasized: We are all responsible for the results of the team and each player must give his best performance. I also try to help the team more. I believe in the unity and empathy of the players and I know that we trust each other. I hope that by continuing our efforts, we can return to good conditions and get better results in future games.
