7% reduction in the fuel consumption of furnace 201 with innovation in the burner system/ annual saving of 174 billion tomans in energy consumption
The project of designing, building, installing and operating the new burners of the 201 aromatic furnace of the Faravarsh 2 complex, in cooperation with the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company, was successfully implemented with the aim of optimizing fuel consumption, reducing pollutants and solving operational problems.
Safir Arjan: The project of designing, building, installing and operating the new burners of the 201 aromatic furnace of Faravarsh 2 complex was successfully implemented in cooperation with Petrochemical Research and Technology Company with the aim of optimizing fuel consumption, reducing pollutants and solving operational problems.
Referring to the importance of this project in improving energy efficiency, Qazbaf Nejad, Director of Product Development, Technology and Innovation of Bandar Imam, quoted from the public relations of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Company, said: This project was carried out with planning, technical studies and economic calculations, and the new burners were successfully installed and launched in the 201 furnace after design, CFD modeling, manufacturing and testing in the pilot furnace.
Also, Mehdi Hamzaei, the project leader and the head of the energy consumption optimization research group, referring to the capabilities of the new burners, said: the possibility of multi-stage adjustment of fuel and air, the replacement of nozzles during service, and the use of hydrogen up to 90% in combination with natural gas are among the features of this design.
In addition, Engineer Mohseni, the technical and production manager of Farvaresh 2, pointed to the operation results and announced: Monitoring of the furnace performance shows a 7% reduction in fuel consumption, a reduction in combustion pollutants, and a solution to the problem of the flame hitting the tubes and walls of the furnace.
He added: Based on economic calculations, this amount of reduction in fuel consumption will save about 174 billion Tomans in the cost of gas consumption every year.
Optimization of the burners of other furnaces and units of the complex is also on the agenda in order to increase energy efficiency and use of surplus gases, and reduce additional flaring in the complex.
