Sahari: SMS Code Is the Way to Verify Authenticity of Products Bearing the Standard Mark

Sanandaj – Kurdistan Director General of Standards said citizens can verify the authenticity of products bearing the standard mark by checking the SMS code printed on the products.

Sanandaj - Kurdistan Standard Director General said: Citizens can check the authenticity of products with the standard mark by inquiring about the SMS code inserted on the products.

Referring to the importance of monitoring the quality of manufactured goods and protecting the rights of consumers, Mehdi Sahari said in an interview with Mehr reporter: Querying the SMS code inserted on the products is a way to check the validity of the standard license and ensure the authenticity of the goods.

He explained the role of the standard in ensuring the health and safety of the society in the live radio program "Rojmir" and on the occasion of the World Standards Day, he added: The granting of licenses and standard badges is done based on technical criteria and expert reviews of specialized groups, and production units are obliged to comply with the specified requirements.

In response to a question about counterfeiting the standard mark on some products, the General Director of Kurdistan Standard said: "Unfortunately, we have witnessed the forgery of this mark in some cases, but the occurrence of such cases does not mean that the standard mark is weak." Because valid licenses have a dedicated SMS code for authentication.

Sahari asked the citizens to check the authenticity of the product through the corresponding SMS code before trusting the logo on the product so that they can be more sure of the product's authenticity.

Emphasis on buying standard goods and supporting domestic production

Pointing to the importance of complying with standards in the production of industrial and edible products, he emphasized the need for consumers to pay attention to the valid mark of the standard when purchasing.

The Director General of Kurdistan Standards also invited the people to support domestic products of the province and noted: Food and industrial products produced in Kurdistan are of high quality and safety, and paying attention to standards and conscious purchasing can help support committed producers and protect consumers' rights.
