Devious Arc Raiders griefers are having fun in PvE, camping in locked loot rooms and luring enemy robots to extraction points.

Arc Raiders PvE lobbies are already filled with griefers using the mode's relative safety, where your bullets don't affect other attackers, to place other players in danger through other means, whether AI manipulation, tool use, or simply blocking their path.

I've played 500 hours of Arc Raiders and I've seen lobbies where everyone is a serial killer and lobbies where everyone is Santa. It's the not knowing that makes every encounter intense, but the new Embark PvE mode removes that uncertainty. Or does it?

Arc Raiders PvE lobbies are already filled with the mode's relative safety, where your bullets don't affect other attackers, using the sadder mode to put other players in dangerous spots through other means, whether it's manipulating the AI, using tools, or simply getting in the way.

There are already videos online of players using the Bull Rush ability to hit people who are trying to mine. As such, they die against archery enemies and can be looted without consequence, bringing a whole new level of rat behavior to one of the worst games ever released.

This is what the pvp guys warned you about.

Outside of that, people camp out in locked loot rooms and wait for another player to show up with a key. The player with the key either unlocks it and splits the loot, or has to leave and go to another match and hope for better accidents. In PvP, you try to kill anyone who competes for loot. In PvE, it's a race to see who can get it first.

There are also players who use decoy grenades to lure enemy bots to extraction points - this is especially devastating when it's a damn shredder. And there is no way to get punished for playing this

One X/Twitter user said: “Launch up the first game and people were like, vultures, taking all the loot from the Arc before you could get anything out of it. Most importantly, they were throwing decoy grenades at me and my wife the entire time we were trying to fight the arc. "That's why he came down, I go after Rez, then my body gets blocked and I'm pushing around like I'm in school again."

It could be selfish players trying to get rich at the expense of others, or it could be PvP players wanting the mode, which is only experimental at this point, to be abandoned. That way, after all, they'll have some easy pickings in their lobby.

Of course, this mode is currently only experimental, so Embark can make changes. I personally don't think PvE has a place as a mode here - unless it's a side thing with separate unlocks. The developers say the loot has been nerfed, but players are coming out with crazy gear. The PvE mode arrived right after Arc Raiders' biggest update, which added grappling hooks, a new map, and more. The update brought a resurgence in players that Steam hasn't seen since March.

This isn't Arc Raiders' first tragic incident either. In December of last year, shortly after the game's explosive launch, one player went viral for killing newcomers, regulars, and those with little or no loot for killing others for sport - sparking a debate about what is and isn't acceptable PvP behavior in the game.

Bungie also announced plans to add PvE modes to Marathon as developers come to grips with the fact that shooters are a niche genre. Hunt: Showdown realized this years ago, sticking to its cowboy-era guns and keeping its identity intact without alienating core fans.
